hey pinky. what i do is... record it to hard disk as a wav file (simply pressing play on the mini disc while it's hooked up to the pc and recording in a program called Creative Wavestudio)... then convert the wav file to mp3 using a program called... Acoustica MP3 to Wave Converter Plus... you can download a free trial, just look for it in google. And there are cracks availableon the Internet that can give you the right serial number to make it the full version (but that's probably illegal...) so that's the way i do it. there's probably a simpler way somewhere, but i don't know it. what i find really annoying is that when i'm recording a whole gig i have to break it up into different songs myself after having recorded it all to hard disk, by just cutting and pasting... i couldn't find any free wave splitter things that would chop it up into different tracks in one go. does anyone know any? thanks.

what you could do is just add marks on the minidisc, seperatin the different tracks

there are a few packages here that might do the trick. I saw an article in a paper last week about some free software that does it too, but will have to look it up.

Make sure you use a decent line-in cable to prevent noise... There is an mp3 encoder/player called Musicmatch Jukebox which I used to use. Some audio editors will do the encoding themselves, though they're usually very expensive industry ones like Wavelab and Soundforge.
