I have been waaay too busy back at college. its such a pain. Not going to Vicar Street. They were sold out before I even knew they had officially announced it! Oh well. Next year hopefully.

Haven't been doin much lately at all. Saw Paddy Casey here in UCC about a month ago. Wasn't too impressed. Its a bad place for a gig anyway. The support Declan O' Rourke was great though. I see he's playing with him in Dingle too.

After much discussion, Mario got us all sorted in the trading department. There's now a proper ftp server for trading, with shows properly divided into *.shn (=smileys/smiley10.gif) and *.mp3 (=smileys/smiley21.gif) formats. We have trees, B&P, Bit Torrents, if it exists, it's there!

well you could just use a internet window and as the address type

and it'll then ask for the password, which is rice for the both of them

or alterantively you can go through a command prompt, just type ftp, then open damienrice.serveftp.net or
open 24.193.247.136 and then it'll ask for username, which is damien and password which is rice.....blah blah, etc.

It's easiest if you just use dedicated ftp client. First, you can set up the re-dialing, and also it's much easier to navigate around the remote server and drag and drop files.

I need the SFTP (secure FTP) protocol to log on to my uni account, so I use FileZilla: http://filezilla.sourceforge.net/ which isn't a commonly used program. But I'm actually very happy with it and it's free. It does regular FTP also, of course.

Have a look at the screen shot there. Left is your computer, right is the remote one, bottom your download queue.

A dedicated client is also generally faster than the browser interface.
