three 6 mafia - hit a motherf*cker

When he came to the door, i hit him in the mouth
And i knocked him on the floor
Then i hit him and hit him somemore
Then i told that ****ing boy
Shouldn't of ran his mouth about of the mother****ing prophet boys
Cause the prophet boys be hypnotizing all of ya'll
Ganna tear around your throat and drag you like you want

i dedicate this song to the b*tch who was running his mouth to my little sister at the skate park calling her a b*tch and then when i show up he ran his mouth to me and then ran off when i took my shirt off to whoop his a**. stupid little punk b*tch

I've only heard the 5 songs that I swiped off of his MySpace page (not the bestest quality either). They're similar to the Cripple Crow stuff -so not much of a musical revolution so far- and most of them are sung in Spanish too (Carmencita is awesome). I believe he described the new album as "equatorial pop", something about "global brotherhood" and such. It all sounds very happy and positive and I am muchly looking forward too all that sunshine.

Yep, the f*ck it is. :D The equatorial pop thing is from an interview that I read somewhere last spring, and the global brotherhood comes from a source/rumour stating that at one point Devendra changed the album title to Vasu Deva Kutumbam, which translates to "universal brotherhood" or "international community".

I think Devendra is just naturally high and drunk. His new video for Seahorse is completely random: scenes of the band jamming in what looks like a remote cabin in a forest and they all look alike (everyone sporting a lumberjack beard), interspersed with Devendra eating gross stuff, wearing a mask, prancing around in his underwear and holding a rifle.

Did I mention Gael Garcia Bernal is in the video too?

Oh yeah she's hot potatoes indeed - her music doesn't suck either, though it'll always be too frenchy-lukewarm for my taste..
Well, I liked the film, but then I came in w no expectations. Morten didn't complaint either. It's charlie kaufmanesque although maybe not as good as, say, adaptation. But worth a looksee.

I wish I had a well-rounded argument for that but all I remember from the film is Meryl Streep interviewing Nicolas Cage, and that's when I decided to call it quits. It was on TV so it was easier to walk away from than had I been in the theatre. Still, I usually give films a second chance - like I said, I dislike Being John Malkovich yet I've seen it three times. Heh.

Kaufmann is very talented though his scripts were getting a bit(VERY) samey. Hopefully he'll come back from his writing break with something new.

I was watching Lake Placid (with Bridget Fonda and Bill Pullman) on TV the other week and Betty White has a seriously creepy role in that film. She feeds cows to giant crocodiles, and lets the little crocos nibble at her toes! I am not making this up.

On rock n'roll!!! Don't forget that. The song is especially repugnant when you realise that it is Grace Slick and the remnants of Jefferson Airplane who sing it. This band used to write psychedelic poetry in the '60s. Like I always say -and many people disagree- not much good has come out of the '80s.

I SOO agree, I hate most of what came out of the 80ies musically. Had a singstar night (playstation kareoke :smiley5: ) with Morten and friends, and the 80'ies songs were very popular but made me a bit aggressive.

we built this city - awful song, but on some level you gotta appreciate lyric snippets such as:

(...)
Knee deep in the hoop-la
sinking in your fight.
Too many runaways eating up the night.
(...)
Someone's always playing
corporation games.
Who cares they're always
changing corporation names.
(...)
Don't tell us you need us
'cause we're the ship of fools

not much good has come out of the '80s.how true. apart from R.E.M. and Tears for Fears (just got into the latter in the past year) Have you noticed on those 80's radio shows (for some reason here, they're on all friday nights) the DJ plays tunes from the same 20 artists. There were hundreds/ thousands of bands around then, why always play the usual nonsence, MJ, Madonna, UB40, Simple Minds,...so on, so on....:icon_thum

listening to Royseven, the art of insincerity
(only found out last week that Royseven used to called Jove who I saw way back in 2004 supposting Lucas)

... and you can't go to a party around here without there being played mainstream 80'ies music (and worst of all: DANISH 80ies music) over and over.
I do love 80'ies Prince though, and Sting and U2 were better in the 80ies too. Donald Fagen - The Nightfly has to be my 80ies favourite.

When I think of '80s music that I have strong sense of nostalgia for only two names come up: Kate Bush and The Cure. Yes, there were some other lovely acts back then but I can't for the life of me appreciate the majority of what the decade spawned. People always gush about Joy Divison/New Order, Cocteau Twins, The Smiths...they do nothing for me.

We should make music nostalgia topics: one for the '90s, one for the '80s, one for the '70s, and for the really, really old eskimos one for the '60s. :p Provided they don't turn into lolz and cat picture threads.
