WOW! I'd never heard of Damien Rice....untill last night. Saw him singing Volcanos on BBC2 Glastonbury Highlights and was completley blown away. I'm proud to be part of this forum & would like to say "nice one" to you lot, who knew about him all along! What's his album called? I don't think I need anyone to tell me how good it is (after hearing him for myself last night) but I'd love to hear any news & views. Can't get that performance out of my head! Still got goosebumps.

Hey hey,

If u got goosebumps from watching him on TV, you'll just explode if u see him live! There should be a health warning before gigs.

Everyone should stop talking about glastonbury its making me mighty jealous for not being there. Damn u all!

I saw the man himself at glasto on stage with the lovely lisa and they were truely magnificent. They kept being told to do an extra five minutes because the next act wasn't ready which was great for all of us slowly getting sunburnt as bubbles drifted across the stage. Lovely stuff

Yep, beautiful stuff on BBC2 the other night. The album's been blasting nonstopthough my earphones for the past 2 months!Me reckonsLisa should sing a lot more, cos lets face it,the girlis a born star every bit as much as Damien (her bitat the start of "I Remember" makes my, ummmm... makes parts of my lowerregions quiver). It's about time Damo got his arse back up to Belfast again...

i reckon damien rice was born to play, but he probably would be best in a small room where everyone can see the whites of his eyes, pity witnness is his only irish gig this year, arena shows are as a rule bad for getting the point across, also everyone is going to have to sit through half-arsed acts all day until damien takes the stage, i think coldplay are almost good enough to play support for him, True? i think so

Never seen him in a small setting myself, but the Glastonbury set was fantastic. I don't think you have anything to worry about seeing him outdoors yourself.
Funnily enough it was on the same stage in 2000 that Coldplay's career launched into the stratosphere, let's hope this does the same for Mr Rice. It's about time British radio stations got behind him and I reckon that he multiplied his UK fans about 500 times this weekend. The boards are full of posts like Nina's on every site.
Once again a fantastic set from a fantastic group of artists and amemory that my girlfriend and I will really treasure.

PS if anyone has a BBC2 tape from Sunday, I will pay cash!

I fiirst saw (and heard of) Damien Rice at Witnness'02, while i was waiting for "Badly Drawn Boy" to come on, and only caught the last 2 songs he played. Cant remember the 2nd last, but the last song was "The Blower's Daughter", and he blended the end into Radioheads "Creep", totally catching everyone out (well i didnt see it coming anyway!!). I couldnt get that song out of my head for the whole summer!! I went out and bought "O" and downloaded every mp3 i could get my hands on. I've loads of covers and unreleased stuff thats good enough for any album. The bloke is amazing, and i cant wait for Witnness'03!!

Love to hear that Glastonbury went well for him, and i now he'll keep getting bigger and bigger. I remember following Coldplay before they played Glastonbury and saw how they hit the big time and know it's gonna happen for Damo 2!!

Hi everyone. Im new here. I saw Damien at Glastonbury and he was amazing. I noticed at least two people with video cameras, are any of you those people? Also, did anyone else go and see the Frames in Glastonbury? Because I did, and was lucky enough to catch the end of the set before, where Damien and Lisa were guest singing a song. Very nice.

As for damo's set, it was bloody marvellous!!! can't wait til the 15th october, Bristol Fleece, oh yes!!!!
