Search Robot MSN

I just looked at the active members list and theres 2 guests and 2 members. Myself and one anonymous, but of the two guests, there is one that says under "operating system" - "Search Robot MSN" it also says its active for the past 31 mins.<BR style="FONT-WEIGHT: bold; COLOR: rgb(0,0,255)"><BR style="COLOR: rgb(0,0,255)">Anyone noticed this before???

I wonder is that some email scanning robot or something else malicious.... Damn Microsoft and their spyware!

Those are the indexing robots for search engines. This one being the MSN one. I've seen the google one about on another board I'm a mod on. Nothing to worry.

I posted this the other morning when i was studying all night. I dont know why i even posted it, as i assumed that i was only a search engine. MSN wouldnt have their name on something malicious. They'd keep it well hidden. Or so my spykiller software suggests. The known spyware on hotmail and msn accountsdoesntcontain their name anyway.

I was spooked the first time I saw a robot, too. I thouht it was pretty brazen for a user to call himself "google bot" or whatever it was on a Jeff Buckley board.


Those bots have been around forever, of course, but when you have a web site or blog you never get to see them unless you look at the server stats. There are&lt;noindex&gt; and &lt;nofollow&gt; tags (or something like that) if you want to keep them away.
