This is a bit late... just saw when I was checking out the new look, the site has just passed it's first anniversary. Emmett started the site on 16 Aug 02. Here is the first bit of news he posted:

I joined on 30 Aug 02... Amazing to see how far Damien (and this site!) have come in just one year.
