Are you sure it's a 5th fret? I'm sure I saw him doing it on 2nd Fret..almost positive actually...though that's never really a good sign lol! To me the 5th tab sounds spot on :)

...Saying that, I've just played the first few notes with a capo on 5th (I played the same chords that Cold water uses) and it actually sounds good.Edited by: cheese

This is how I play it.

CAPO VII (live) or V (on 'O')<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

VERSE I
(optional notes in parentheses)

e--------------------------------------------------0-------
B---3----3----3---3---------------1--------1---1-----------
G---0----2—---0---0---------------0---0----0---0-----------
D---0----0----2---2---0h2-0-------2---2----2---4-----------
A---2----0----2---3----------2--------2----3---5-----------
E-3-3--2-2--0-0-----------------------0---(3)—(5)----------

Then he changes up the 1st 4 chords in VERSE 2:
e----------------------------------------------------------
B---3-------3-----3---1--------------1---------1---1-------
G---4-0h4---4—----4---0-------0------0----0----0---0-------
D---5-------5-----5---2---0h2--------2----2----2---4-------
A---5-------5-----5---3----------2--------2----3---5-------
E-3-3-----2-2---0-0--(3)------------------0---(3)—(5)------

CHORUS (I’m sketchy about this part, sorry.)
e----------------------------0--2--------------------------- -
B--0---1------3--3-----------3--3---1-0h1------------1--3---
G—-0---0------0—-4—4h<?:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><ST1:DATE Month="5" Year="2000" Day="4">5-4-0</ST1:DATE>---5--4---0----------------0--0---
D—-5---2-0h2--4--5-----------5--4---2-------0h2-2h3--2--4---
A--7---3------5--5-----------------------------------3--5---
E-(7)--3------5--3------------------------------------------

Then he stays with the Verse 2 chord formationschanges up the fills. BTW the outro is like the introto Eskimo using the EmD Cchords and hammering/pulling the notes on the 1st, 2nd, and 4thstrings.
Em D C
(7)0 0
(7)0 0
00 0
54 2
75 3
xx x

You're right.. I was very surprised when I got to watch him play it on a kcrw webcast.. The beginning looked like:

e---------------------------------
b---3---------3---3---1-----------
g---0-0h4-0---0---0---0-----------
d---5---------5---5---2---(...)---
a---5---------5---5---3-----------
e---3---------2---0---3-----------
