Hey i dunno about you guys, but personally i think that the "Eskimo for Kerry" ad on the front page should be taken off. Whether you believe in Kerry or Bush (or Nadar), i think we should try to keep politics where they belong. I think that Damien would agree with me here.

Well.... it's Emmett's site and he supports Kerry so.... his call, I guess. Emmett's very political! smileys/smiley2.gif

Could I ask you to remove the hardcore porn link from your personal profile and keep that were it belongs? I found that pretty offensive.

Hi Jeff,

First of all, I've had to remove the web link you gave as it's pretty horrible and definitely against the forum rules.

Secondly, the John Kerry sign isn't coming down. I don't speak for Damien and this site doesn't either. I would never presume to know what he would think about anything. I personally don't think that there is a single place where politics belongs. I'm really proud to support John Kerry and I hate the idea that you would suggest to someone to censor their political beliefs, particularly on their own website. If it's a big problem for you, then there are plenty of other damien rice fan sites you could visit instead.

You must be a bush supporter, hence the fact that you are trying to take someone's freedom of speech away. Who cares if emmett supports Kerry or anyone else. In reality you cant escape politics. In one way or another politics is everywhere, even in music. People should let others know who they support. If emmett decides to support kerry, who in my opinion is the better candidate, then thats his choice and for you to try and deny him the right to publicly announce who he supports is wrong. Why dont you go start ripping Kerry/Edwards bumper stickers off the backs of cars, or go rip bush/cheney signs out of yards?

Hey, first of all that link in my profile was a result of spyware (i have no idea how it got there, or even what it was) and i didnt even know about it till you guys said somthing, sorry about the mistake.

Secondly, im not tryn to censor, or take away nebody's freedom of speech, just a simple opinion.Iwasnttryn to hurt ne ones feelings just tryn to spark a good conversation. I didn't think you guys would take it as an attack on Emmit. Apoligies

Oh, and Lucy i agree with you, Moore is an incrediblly talented film maker from an artistic standpoint. However, i do think farenheit 9/11 was nothing more than propaganda.

It is propaganda, yes. Nobody would deny that. Michael Moore himself wouldn't, i'm sure, as he has openly said he hopes this film will guarantee Bush isnt reelected. I watched that film with that in mind, and still found that it was factual and I would accept the basic message it told. You, me and the rest of the world are bombarded with propagandaall the time, whether you realise it or not. The papers and tv networks are full of the most blatant propagandist nonsense. It's up to you as an intellegent individual to decide for yourself who to believe. Emmett has made his decision, and is acting how he see's fit. It is not your place to tell him what to do.

I myself don't feel John Kerry is particulalry the right man for the job. But I would take him over Bush any day.

Definition of propaganda
noun [u] MAINLY DISAPPROVING
information, ideas, opinions or images, often only giving one part of an argument, which are broadcast, published or in some other way spread with the intention of influencing people's opinions

I hope I we are not having a similar discussion in years to come, trying to get rid of Kerry. He doesnt instill me with a great deal of confidence.

edit: but he does by a whole lot more than Bush.

Not trying to tell anybody what to do guys, just an opinion sorry you took it that way. Again, i was just tryn to have a good conversation i dont know why it has to be taken as hostile, i would never tell any of you guys waht to do, but i will tell you what I think

And I agree with you dream brother that we are sorrounded by propaganda all the time and we should make the decisions for ourselves. However i just think that decision, whatever it might be, should be based on the facts. And i dont have any respect for someone who twists those facts to change peoples minds, wether they are conservative or liberal.

jclapt38 I didn't read your original post as particularly hostile... and I respect your thoughts on whether the banner should be on this site...

But I just disagree. This is too important. The world just doesn't function well with "W" as P.O.T.U.S. and we need to get EVERYONE possible to vote for Kerry to be sure he can't pull another fast one during THIS election.

Get out there and vote people!

Term limits are simply, a limit to the amount of time a senetor or congressman can have that position. The way the system works nowe its like if your in, than ur pretty much in for life. Term limits would keep us from having to deal with all the Strom Thrumans. Just like a president can only serve 2 terms, it would be similiar to that.
