i found it in a bookstore when i was looking at the magazine racks, i had to stand back and make sure i was right, becuase i couldnt believe my eyes when i saw damien rice on the cover of the magazine. I immediately sat down and read the article, turns out it was done on the same day as my first damien live experience smileys/smiley4.gif. But a very well done article and lonelily lil, you said exactly what i said "how much more 'damien' can you get". Brilliant.

Its a great interview, probably the best Damien one I've read in ages. But, I have to admit, I was disappointed to read that Woman Like A Man is likely to be on the new album. As much as I love the song, its overkill at this stage.

i disagree, because im dying to hear a truestudio version of that song just to see what damo does with it

i agree. the article on damien was excellent! as far as Paste goes, the next issue (october/november) is great...there's a good article on Joseph Arthur and even a song from his new cd on the sampler...i can't wait for the new album!

Stepping over Damien sprawled on the floor with a beer in one hand and a slice of pizza in the other! smileys/smiley36.gifThat does sound fun actually.

Good on ya, Josh! smileys/smiley32.gifI thought it was the best article I had read in a long time, too, and it does kind of remind you of the fresh perception you had of Damien in the beginning. (or it did me anywaysmileys/smiley1.gif) And it seems to me that his fame and growing popularity has really caught him off guard (the part about him showing his dad the tour bus) and he's not the money-grubbing schemer some make him out to be. (of course Inever thoughtthat...)

I love Damien!! smileys/smiley27.gif

hes pure and real...i would stay up countless nights listening to o or explaining it to someone or talking to my girlfriend about it and we would try to capture anykind of description that could accurately describe his music and his energy. and i found that the part that entraps me in his music and himself is that he is so pure. and i felt that the article presented that side of him.

also, my opinion on the whole money grubbing matter.

musician that write songs like damo, that perform like damo, that speak like damo arent "in it" for the money. thats not to say that he isnt interested in money, but its not his purpose. he has to write songs to deal with himself and his world, and thats why they come out the way they do.
