I was watching film on RTE 1 and had seen it before so flicked and came across Damien on C4, couldn't be happier as Friday night TV is crap, well 99% of TV is crap these days made staying in on Friday night worth it and looks like I didn't miss much of it, was great show. Can't wait to see him live again in Dublin though as nothing beats that.smileys/smiley32.gif

I don't have TV, so when I was told Damien was on C4, I texted and called all my UK friends... But none had a tape recorder that worked!


So I put on some decent clothes (I was already in my pyjamassmileys/smiley36.gif) and went to see if my neighbour Tim was still awake. There was no light in his bedroom... But I saw a girl from the house next to Tim's, and I asked her - although I don't know her, and although it was 11:30pm! - if she could tape it for me...
And guess what...


SHE DID!!!!


Now I have a tape, but no TV to watch it smileys/smiley5.gif

You need a bittorrent client (software). I use this one: http://pingpong-abc.sourceforge.net/ (http://pingpong-abc.sourceforge.net/)(supports auto-resume, priorities, multiple torrents)


After you've installed that you just double clickthe bittorrent link and it will start downloading.


You might have to create an account at the site you are downloading from.

Someone else emailed me and said they haddl'ed it and got pictures but no sound. Mine won't even attempt to play it. Still have my window open for those of you downloading tho...

It's a DVD file, I reckon, so the application of choice to use for playback isyour DVD player software, likePowerDVD, WinDVD etc. Those all come withMPG-2(aka DVD)codecs.

I don't what I did but it worked! I had reinstalled Windows so had not reinstalled WinDVD but did that (as you suggested) Tho then it wouldn't play in the WinDVD program, but after installing it I went back and tried to play it again in Windows Media Player and it worked!! smileys/smiley4.gif(the proper codecs must have been installed with the WinDVD software?) But when I tried to play it inWinDVDI got sound but no picture (tho a friend told me he had the opposite problem earlier today- pic but no sound) but it works like a dream in WMP now.


Anyway... it worked and just got done watching it. Amazing show! smileys/smiley32.gif

I only took a brief look last night (at 3am! smileys/smiley36.gif) and I *think* there's some kind of licensing issue involved with MPG-2 codecs and that's why you have to have a commercial program that includes them or otherwise the computer reselkler installs them (and absorbs the licensing cost)...


....and then it was 3:30 and my download had finished, so I had to try out if it worked for me smileys/smiley9.gif....


....and then I got hooked. Spectacular video! smileys/smiley3.gif

I don't know Felix. I have two, so I never looked into it. One I have camepre-installed with my computer and the other one with aDVD drive I bought. Maybe use google to see if you find a free one?

yep thats how long it will take! Just leave your computer on trust me its worth it!! I'm downloading a bootleg DVD made of Muse of snippets of their festivals they played at this summer (one of which i was at!!!) It says its gonna take me 107 hours!!!! Just hang in there Hannah the results are always good!
