yeah he did write it, people say silly things sometimes. He dosen't play that many covers without attaching them to one of his own songs. for the record, the title dosen't include "i'm so"smileys/smiley2.gif(i love the little winking eye, it makes obnoxious statements seem so friendly)</font>Edited by: Bumpman

They were probably referring to it soundinglike"The Bare Necessities". The fact that Damo has borrowed alot of his melodies and/or music from existing songs in homage to his favorite artists(Cohen, Simone, Brel, Radiohead)has come up on the forumbefore.

i don't think so. he's said it came from him hanging around with other singer/songwriters and seeing what a bunch of intraspective twats they were. so he decided to writea song poking fun at people like himself.

he said on one of the australian radio interviews recently that he got his first guitar when he was 12 (i think) and wrote his first song a couple of weeks later. I'm guessing at 12, he wasn't yet disillusioned by singer/songwriter naval-gasing. smileys/smiley2.gifEdited by: Banjaxed

groovin was an early one alright, he said he wrote it when he was about 15.

apparently he wanted to write it about a girl, but he couldn't think of one he fancied enough, so he just invented someone... aaawwwwwwwwww</font>

for a 12 or 15 yar-old i think groovin is above average by far (can you say that?smileys/smiley36.gif), but if you think of childish in it's perspective as a sort of cabaret'ish satire over singer/songwriters i think it works pretty good - especially at the union church gig, imo.

I &lt;3 Childish simply because it's so "out of character" from his melancholy, melodic beautiful songs.

The lyrics just crack me up. Song Make me want to dance..

Which is actualyl kinda scary.

i love childish aswell because of the aforementioned reasons-its out of character, the satire and humor in the song is priceless and you cannot deny it...the song has a good beat to it.

My favourite bit in childish has to be when he says creep and wacks on the hugest distortion he has and does that pre-chorus distortedbit out of radioheads creep... classic

does he always do that?
