my friend and i are travelling around the US/Canada on hols and managed to see Damien play at Radio City on monday night. God what a show, i absolutely loved it - so much so I'm now down in Philly trying to get tixs for tonights gig.

What a difference to the show i saw at Fremantle in February - it almost feels like i got a second rate performance there compared to the NY one. I absolutely loved the acoustics in the indoor venue (cannonball was just beautiful), your audiences are so much more enthusiastic than ours but best of all i finally heard some stories from damien amongst his songs. It was pretty much the perfect show for me - i could rave on for hours but unfortunately i don't have a lot of time on the net (travelling budget is tight) loved the fact i got a completely different setlist to what i heard in Freo - he made my night playing accidental babies and unplayed piano (which i know many of you have heard before - but not me). Oh and Cheers darlin' just was the perfect closure.

Totally mind-altering...We were in the First Mez. Left-Center. The guys yelling for Lisa were embarassing.

I'm sorry that I didn't join this site sooner so I could have met some of you before the show. Also sorry I didn't wait around to meet him and the rest of the band, but my wife and I had just flown in on a red-eye the night before from Cali (honeymoon) and she was exhausted.
I thought that Rootless Tree was actually better the way he played it than on the studio version. I've heard people say it lacked emotion, but to me it seemed to be a greater level of emotion-the kind of somberness that typically sets in post anger.
I agree that the show was lacking the female vocals. D did a great job of playing it off on his own, but the songs lacked the rounds that they used to sing. I had no idea about the split until I got home and joined this site.
Actually thought D was going to come into the Mez when he started up the steps.
For my first D show, and my first show at RCMH, it will be hard for me to see Roger Waters this summer at Darien Lake (a show I was actually really looking forward to). This was the most amazing performance I have ever seen. I will absolutely be there again this fall!

It was my first time seeing Damien, and I really did not know what to expect at all. (I was in the second mezz if anyone's curious) I was totally blown away. I think my favorite song of the night was Accidental Babies.

This might be a weird question, but does anyone know what the house music was that played before the show?

This is what it says in the shows notes on dimeadozen:
"stealthed show (of course). please seed and spread! guess this is one of vyv's last shows, meaning, one of the last good damien shows! " SAY WHAT!? Did I miss something or did this dude?

Vyv hasn't been at the last couple gigs.... I'm not sure what the story is though.
