what if im wrong
sorry if this is fake, but i found this studio version not sure its been posted yet
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ThDeodyah6U its real |
pity itīs not the full song...it makes a strange jump cos the first chorus is missing
|
It doesn't sound real. He sounds flat, doesn't he?
|
It's the same sections of the song ripped from the DVD and DVD menu screens that we've heard before, i.e. those sections that don't have any narrative over the top.

Thanks for searching and finding this mix version but honestly I wouldn't hear it a second time it is so far from the way Damien sang it at the movie premiere by example, I cruelly miss this elegant rage that broke my heart but gave justice to the meaning of the lyrics, this version sounds like a fairy tale song when the subject is anything but a Disney story with a happy ending! Fingers crossed about a proper version to be released someday, better be live :D

agree, it doesn't compare to the version he did at the Box (best so far)
but at the same time, I would like to listen to the original in full, even if the production is a bit meh, guess thatīs why he dumped all those first recordings from Iceland and New York |
Damo with which female vocal?
|
@borneoman: thanks a lot for sharing this vid, I didn't know that he played it at NY, how lucky!!! I love the end (last 2 verses) that's so much better when "he" sings it and the way he almost whisper is chilling!!! But for the rest of the song I stick to the L.A version, he had this powerfull voice that could move mountains that I don't find back in the NY version. Still I'm like you, I'd be curious to hear the full original version. This song is so emotionnal and precious because of the theme it's about, definitely in my top 5

nope, the girl in this studio version
|
sure itīs Julia too
EDIT: just did a google and found it here in the Igloo posted by Glo a while ago these are the full credits for the studio version of the song: damien rice - vocals, guitars, bass, drums, percussion, wurlitzer luke slott - piano vyvienne long - cello, backing vocals janet clarke - backing vocals julia dubsky - backing vocals |
wow, vyv did backing vocal
thank u |
I dislike the female voice in the studio version and the LA gig. And, I agree that he sings it with the power it deserves at the LA performance. This song gives me chills every time I hear it. I truly hope it's on the next album.
