Violine Pickup?
 

Does anyone in here have a hint on violine pickups. I already wrote to Colm asking for advice, but he's on tour so who knows if he'll answer.
It's a 19th century violine my girl plays and we don't want to scratch her (the violine... well both, but I'm more concerned about the wood (errr... I'm not getting out of this)).
So... help! Shadow? Fishman? Low budget solutions please!

I did a google serach of "violin pickup forum" and got quite a lot of pretty useful hits, or I should think so w/o having tested any of the hints.. Apparently a guitar pic is perfectly good for the purpose, according to some.
