Anyone heard rumours bout who's playing?

Hopefully Damien.I reckon the stage The Thrills were on would really suit him.I think it was Rising (in the tent) although he was good on Main Stage.

Gatsby 01-16-2004 06:24 AM

i heard rumours of david bowie playing... that would be awesome

i just hope for all the good irish acts to play as well as tom mcrae & maybe dave matthews band too?

guess it's a wee bit weird to see him play before an audience of 50 000 peops.

Jarv 01-16-2004 06:34 AM

I have it on very good authority, that Bowie is playing, and maybe headlining!

All the usuall Irish acts will be there im sure. The Bellies, Kitt, Casey, Hayes .....the list goes on...

I'd love to see Dave Mathews Band there.

Speaking of Bowie, i also heard that he was asked in an interview what bands/artists he was listening to that people should look out for. He spoke highly of "Stand". They're an Irish band from Tallaght. Very good band. After hearing of this comment, they invited him to a gig in the US, and he showed up. He told them he might be looking for them to come on tour with him. Which is amazing for them!

Sionna 01-16-2004 07:08 PM

Ive heard that Bowie,The Pixies, The Darkness, The White Stripes and Muse might all be playing.....

marina 01-17-2004 04:14 AM

sounds good

daol20 01-17-2004 03:49 PM

Gonna be totally organised this year!! We're hiring a van between us, instead of driving down. And we're gonna sleep in the carpark, rather than in that jungle they call a campsite! (Nightmare!) Think i'll pay for a camping ticket though, so i can go in and out to the van. Cos withought the camping ticket you cant get back in when you leave.

And im not getting so wasted this time, that i miss half the gigs i intend on seeing! </font> Edited by: daol20

Sionna 01-17-2004 04:21 PM

Nope its the campsite for me all the way.We had hurdles people!!!!Security tried to stop us but it didnt work, mwah ha ha.Few people ended up pretty mangled though, haha!

Gatsby 01-18-2004 05:09 AM

getting mangled was the best part!! i got to see everyone i wanted &amp; was always in the gig venue for 12:00 to check out the acts...

made it into the dance arena and jumped around like a mad man then realised how sh*t it was an left... then realised they had proper toilets in there!!

most of my mates will prob be away for witnness this year so it wont be as good as last year but i still have to go

#Ian# 01-18-2004 09:47 AM

I'm gonna go to Glasto again this year but I'll definatly make it to Witnness unless I'm totally broke.

I live 15 minutes away so I don't need to camp. I'll be driving though so no drinking/illicet substances for me.

I missed out of the point last year but I would pay any amount of money to see Bowie at this point and if the Pixies are there then God you can strike me down dead if you want the second that they go off stage.

Bumpman 01-18-2004 02:44 PM

if the pixies play, we might as well just die then, "live" dosen't get much better

#Ian# 01-19-2004 07:42 AM

I got it second hand from a journalist that Bowie is confirmed and the pixies are 90% certain.

ali* 01-19-2004 04:56 PM

oooooh, and im halfway through my bowie listening.....

Bumpman 01-20-2004 01:15 PM

i also heard from my very secret/knowledgeble freind that bowie is confirmed, the pixies have reformed and are playing in california w/ radiohead on may 1st. i'd go if i had the money to get there from tipperary. If the pixies play witnness then... ... ...

#Ian# 01-20-2004 01:23 PM

Bumpman, lets charter a plane.

And by charter I mean Hijack.

Aisling 01-20-2004 05:11 PM

omg if this is true................ omg.... bowie? really...

Illusions 01-20-2004 06:38 PM

what dates are witness?

daol20 01-20-2004 06:49 PM

July usually, i think</font>

daol20 01-20-2004 06:52 PM

Just checked my shoe box of ticket stubs and festival programmes, and last years gig was the 12th and 13th of July.

But i've heard that they're gonna turn it into a 3 day gig. Dont know if thats happening this year though. Although its turning into a tradition that the open the campsites on the Friday, and the unoffical party starts then.</font>

Michelle Joey 01-21-2004 04:11 AM

Three days!!! Very nice indeed

Gatsby 01-21-2004 06:29 AM

the friday night was one of the best nights... when jerry fish played campsite A it was pure madness to walk into the middle of the campsite at 4 o clock in the day and everyone is already really wasted

daol20 01-22-2004 12:07 PM

I was stuck in work that Friday. 3 of my mates went down to set up early. I was listening to all the updates on "Pet Sounds", and was leppin to get down there!! I was working the night shift at the time. 7pm till 7am. I got off early at 5am and a few of us drove down at around 8am. Felt like i missed half the party...</font>

Bumpman 01-22-2004 01:42 PM

Jerry Fish was EXCELLENT on the friday night, fair dues to them for playing actually, i'd never been to a festival the night before and i reckon the friday night was the best part... that and cold water. But this year... the f**king pixies.

#Ian# 01-22-2004 01:44 PM

I couldn't put it better myself. The f**king Pixies.
