Ooh looks nice ade, is it semi-acoustic or just acoustic, what are the pick-ups like, if it has them?

Can I ask how you set-up your own guitar for playing live, do you go straight into your P.A. or do you go into an amp and then DL or mic it up?

Ta

ade and rice 01-31-2005 03:37 PM

It's electro,

it has a b-4 b band pick up, one of the best in many peoples view. like micing up but without the squeal.

and as for live, i just go into the peadals and out into the pa.

Juzzza 01-31-2005 03:51 PM

Ooh, talk me through your pedal set-up.

coreybyrnes 01-31-2005 04:09 PM

good choice ade... i had spotted those about a year ago for the first time... they are made by the same company as godin and seagull... i have always searched for their newest model, the folk cutaway, but no one carries them... congrats on the new baby and well done in yourdiscovery of an obscure but talented guitar-making company

youl never get better than a martin. never x

TBone 02-10-2005 09:28 PM

hey, i dont have a martin, *dont laugh* i have a yamaha, but hear me out, i had no idea i was getting this guitar, my dad has been playing guitar for soo long and is really good, and for my b-day he went to Guitar center (like the biggest music shop in the world) and he went into their huge acoustic section and had a price in mind that he was willing to pay and he played like all the guitars in that price range and thought that this semi-acoustic yamaha had the best sound, and actually, they dont make this model any more that i have, but this guitar sounds awesome, ive played alot of guitars and this one is definetly up there, so dont let the "Yamaha" name throw you off, the model type is; yamaha FGX-412SC, look it up, its a great guitar but is not made anymore, so hard to find...later

Juzzza 02-11-2005 08:18 AM

ade, thanks for that.

Can you still talk me through it, I am especially interested in the box everything seems to plug into before going into the P.A. I want to be able to do that as my amp exploded last night. I have (had) a marshall for acoustic guitars, which I DL into the P.A. it sounds scratchy sometimes and too trebly.

What pick-ups are you using and how can I get the best sound from a P.A.?

I opened for a guy last night called Derrin Nauendorf who had two pick-ups on his guitar and two leads coming from the guitar into seperate channels in the P.A. The guy was incredible, the best player I have sever seen! He could play percussion, bass, harmonics all at the same time, going as far as headbutting the mic for the bass drum!!! It was a spectacle and quite awesome. The sound he got from his guitar was just incredible.Edited by: Juzzza
