I don't know if this will be considered too personal about damien...i hope not...

does anyone know if it's true that glen hansard wrote 'fake' about damien? someone told me that recently and i was so shocked cos damo seems lovely! Do you think it's true?

there was alot of rumours a good while back when fake was released

glen hansard was quoted in many newspapers as saying it is not about damien at all...

a friend of mine well he's more a friend of a friend, hangs around with glenns brother and aparently glenn and the band, Damo, paddy casey etc. all the irish artists, Bellx1, all get together at a certain time of the year (dont know when though) and have dinner, a few drinks and then out come the guitars, and they have a jam session. Because of that, I doubt Fake is about damien. plus its a great song and i hate people saying its about damien.

And he toured with the frames aswell didn't he? that's why i was thinking it was strange that glen had written a nasty song about him! ok, i feel better now, it can't be about Damien :-) :smiley20:

Well, ok, Damo sort of snapped when he left Juniper, and he even admitted that he was becoming "a royal pain in the arse to deal with", but I don't think Glen would do that. I hope.

hmmmm.........glen didn't exactly deny the damien connection in that article though did he? anyway, i'm sure if they did fall out it's all good now.....hopefully

fake is NOT about damien...glen said it originally in cork, while he was a bit tipsy on stage, it grew legs and spread and then glen quashed it the last time he played solo in cork

I had put it in the faq that i originally submitted, it was edited out... which is probably best, because it's a stupid rumour at best, it's probably best just not to dignify it with a spot on the ol' faq.
