I'm not going, waaaay to expensive and I'll see him a week later

Martine 04-04-2007 07:57 PM

Wow, indeed expensive, double the price I payed the last time!!!
rang 1, 2 ánd 3??? Something new in the HMH?

He can change his sailboat for a motorboat....

Well, I can say what I want, but I'll be there anyway

Accidental Baby 04-04-2007 08:00 PM

Indeed, quite expensive compared to earlier concerts.

I'll still try to get some tickets though.

Mirjam 04-04-2007 09:25 PM

I wish my paycheck had this rate of inflation :-s

42 euros is ridiculous... With reservation charges and all it's gonna cost me 50 euros to see Damo :-s

Accidental Baby 04-04-2007 09:32 PM

So, who's the one to blame. The venue, Mojo, Damien's own management?

I'm guessing Mojo...

cille 04-04-2007 10:07 PM

It's about the same price in Cph - about 325 dkr incl. extra charges. When he just played here a couple of weeks ago it was 250 dkr, maybe a bit more. And in 2004 it was around 150 dkr. I guess M People were right; "The only way is up" :(

dramaking 04-04-2007 10:15 PM

very expensive. but still i would love to come to lovely copenhagen

Rens 04-05-2007 07:53 AM

Damien is absolutely worth it (better than having to pay a lot for "zwarte markt" tickets) and HMH is not too bad from my experience.

The ranking thing is a bit strange, I have only experienced this when it was a seated concert, because normally it is free entrance to standing and seating in the back. The balconies are always limited to sponsers, like stupid 3FM with all the fuss they made about Tilburg concert I couldn't get through for tickets (Fortunately Köln & Brussels made my days!!), like they discovered him and all.... But anyways we have to accept that Damien is doing more and more mainstream stuff... but he remains his own beautiful self in all this!!!

Here are some more experiences which are very close to Damien Rice for me:
- I am going to see Inland Empire tonight!!! Just got out in Holland, totally excited about it. Besides DR, DL is also the man, and both very spiritual oriented...
- At Brussels concert I sam Wim van de Keybus, the choreagrapher of dancegroup Ultima Vez, which for me are very close to DR and DL, using a lot of music from 16 Horsepower/Woven Hand. He was very excited maybe in the next Ultima Vez danceperformance, Damien's music....

Sorry for my crap I just had to let it out!!!

Yay, another Damien Lynch fan ;)
INLAND EMPIRE doesn't come out here untill August:crybaby2:I hope you enjoy it! It's supposed to be really amazing!

SnoopS 04-05-2007 11:01 AM

I sent an email to someone of the record company to ask about the ranking... but he hasn't replied yet... I still want to go, but yeah, it's really expensive :( And I guess it's not Mojo, if the price for a ticket was raised so much too (english? ;)) in Denmark...

Supposing we're not talking of the eskimofriend Mojopin1980, who's Mojo then? Local ticket vendor?

Haha, no this wasn't about Mojopin1980. By the way, I tried to get him (Mojopin1980) a ticket for the Brussels gig, but that didn't work out well :(

Mojo is the name of the dutch uhm... ticket vendor? Don't know... the company that arranges the concerts... not the venue itself, nor the record company nor his management... but just a stupid company that arranges the concert.

cille 04-05-2007 11:23 AM

So you know Rikkert do you?? :)

Yep :) We meet at concerts and he's living in the same city :)

cille 04-05-2007 02:56 PM

Neat! I actually bumped into a guy called Mark (not Soda) on Soulseek who also knew Mojopin1989. Small world!

Martine 04-05-2007 05:52 PM

Yep, it's a seated concert.

Haha, I know Mark too :) Nice guy too! And he shares a LOT on slsk ;)

We're all from the same message board, a Dutch message board about Counting Crows, ok, not actually about Counting Crows, but it's called Dutch Counting Crows Nest, so it has to be about Counting Crows but it (almost) never is ;). 4Duckie (guess that's her name here, otherwise jane.d) is also from that board.... And Mojo was one of the guys who spammed us with Damien, a long time ago. So that's how I got to know Damien ;).

cille 04-05-2007 10:05 PM

Small world indeed! Freaks me the hell out.

Maybe it's just that Holland is a small country ;).

cille 04-06-2007 09:13 AM

No but this isn't the only such www-coincidence I've experienced. Before I met my boyfriend, Hazey (another dutch eskimo) knew him from a David Lynch forum. So before I knew him, I'd post with Hazey here about the fantastic danish band of Sussi & Leo, and she'd confront him with them in their chats. And then I met him because I needed Twin peaks season two, and he had some old vhs tapes with that, and found out we had this mutual dutch acquaintance. Strange.

Oh and btw - Denmark is smaller ;)

SnoopS 04-06-2007 11:32 AM

That's funny :). *sings* It's a small world after all... ;)

Rens 04-07-2007 08:16 AM

Pfff, I have made it, but the ticketmaster was blocked for 10 minutes, how many requests can they take? Seems a little bit crapy to me, although after 10 minutes I was only able to book 2nd rang tickets in the "Black Box", where that may be, somewhere on row 20.....doesn't sound to good... but who knows maybe we can "bestorm" the stage and get to the front... Yeah, these good old times and did it once in Ahoy, got from the ring over the cycling track to the arena... if we all do it at once security can not hold us!!! I say RIOT!!!! Well calm down now, well see what happens somewhere late in June!!!

Well, actually 'Black Box' is just the name of the main hall, so row 20 shouldn't be
too bad. We got tickets for row 17, so don't run us over when you're 'bestorming' ( ;) ) the stage.

Martine 04-07-2007 10:17 AM

Ik heb ook geen idee hoe het op is gesteld.
HMH heeft wel vaker concerten met enkel zitplaatsen, maar een plattegrond van zo'n concert is er niet.

Ik ben er ook bij :hello2:

SnoopS 04-07-2007 06:25 PM

Me too! :D We bought tickets twice, to be sure... Mojopin bought us 2 tickets and the friend with who I'm going bought tickets too (she had to work for the news paper but there was nothing emergent so... :)). And now we have row 4 and row 5, but we're not sure yet which are the best.

Does anyone know how many seats there are in one row? We have seat 58 and 59...

Mirjam 04-07-2007 06:58 PM

I'm on row 11. Snoops whenever you've decided if you wanna be in row 4 or 5 let me know what you do with the other tickets ok? Row 5 still sounds a lot better than row 11 ;-)

We already decided to help you or Annemiek with better tickets ;). So we're not gonna sell 'em right away :).

Oh, Cille, another person (Mirjam :)) on this forum from Holland which I know from concerts and the Dutch Counting Crows Nest ;). Hehe. We DCCN-persons (almost) all love Damien :D

Amsterdam

Hello folks-any thoughts or suggestions?
I was heading over to stay with my sister in Den Haag and go to the Genesis gig on the 1 July( hard to believe a Genesis fan would be on here??) and then I heard Damien is playing Amsterdam so I am looking to come over a week earlier, then I hear Glen Hansard is playing Utrecht the night before. Well I havent gotten tickets for either of these gigs yet but any suggestions on how I can get to do everything? I am working Sat a.m. so cant get a flight until after lunch so it looks like I may have to fly to AMS and train straight to the Utrecht gig!!!
Any thoughts on how tickets? I see quite a few Eskimos have extras but saving for their friends which is fair enough. Please bear me in mind as I will bump the thread as we get nearer the gigs.
Happy Easter everyone.
Tot Ziens!
