Someone's been chalking it and putting posters up on the OU campus. They got me too, because the OU website had it up on their events list. I knew it was too good to be true.

From the sin.ou.edu website:

"Editor's Note: The Damien Rice concert, originally slated on our website for Thursday night on the South Oval, has been removed from the To-Do List. The original information posted was based on several posters and chalkings we had found for the event around campus. Kim Fairbanks from the Center for Student Life said a prayer vigil has been scheduled for the same time and that she has heard nothing of the concert. As much as we would like to think that sidewalk chalk never lies, we have omitted the concert from SIN until we can prove such an event is actually happening. If you have any information that confirms whether or not Damien Rice will perform this week, please email us at sinwriting@ou.edu or call (405) 325-4856. We apologize for the inconvenience, and ultimately, for sucking."

actually it does make sense... he was implying that since damien will be in new york next week, oklahoma is relatively close to where damien will be as opposed to burma or the north pole...

it's just you that failed to understand what was implied... you do know how to edit your posts so they don't sound so cruel don't you? sheesh :smiley5:

Wheels 04-21-2005 05:47 PM

And we know he's in NY next week because he is performing at the Tribeca Film Festival... see news and gigs sections for further details.

Oh... and I never lose :smiley2:

The original kntting factory is in NY. The knitting factory in Hollywood opened a few years ago when the hollywood and highland complex opened.

GlttrGrrl 04-21-2005 08:18 PM

oh and TriBeCa is also in NY, not LA ;)

cello_pudding 04-21-2005 08:31 PM

...what was originally said was that he's too far from IRELAND. the original use of the word was meaning too far from where that person was, which was obviously outside the US.

then it seems you asked "too far?" in a sense like..where do you live? not..where damien is touring. to which that is why kel replied in saying where he lived.

it implied that he was saying that he's playing twice already in the US, like how can it be too far? when he's playing in many different places.

coreybyrnes 04-21-2005 09:05 PM

this thread has become POINTLESS! hahahahahaha..... but i thought he said.... but then you said.... but she meant.... well you are wrong cause she really meant.... blah blah blah blah blah blah, shut UP! :)

cello_pudding 04-21-2005 09:12 PM

...screw you. i'm just justifying my point in how kel was thinking, and how i was thinking...and how you were and whats his name was thinking...and since the original person would be the only correct one...that's who i was in line with.

you can't say shut up with an f'n smiley face. i can say whatever i want.

Wheels 04-21-2005 09:17 PM

Cello.... it wasn't an attack, he was saying how silly all this was and laughing at us all... which I must also to (:smiley36:). On this board people tend not to insult people, so by default assume people aren't being aggressive.

Wheels 04-21-2005 09:21 PM

Oh and I admit misunderstanding Kel so I'm gonna shut up :)

cello_pudding 04-21-2005 09:22 PM

well then i'm sorry i don't have damien's tour schedul memorized and didn't know how obvious you were talking about the new york show...

how many retarded little smiley faces do i need to put next to a pissy post to make it even out??? :D :smiley2: :smiley14: :) :) :) :) :) :) :smiley2: :smiley2: :smiley14: :smiley2: :) :) :) :) :D :D :D :D :D :smiley20: :smiley20: :smiley20: :smiley20:

Wheels 04-21-2005 09:23 PM

I think you covered it :) lol

coreybyrnes 04-21-2005 09:34 PM

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.... .

cello needs to mello out..... insulting gets you nowhere..... just know that we are kind folk here..... this is a unique message board filled with good people..... not like every other message board i've been to where there are egos and arguments in every thread..... we're all in this together.....

cello_pudding 04-21-2005 10:52 PM

only a few things make me mad...

ignorance, missunderstanding, and saying something pissy with a smile as if saying shut up is fine and dandy.

which all i think came to play in this thread. not saying anyone was ignorant...but our own missunderstandings made it seem others were ignorant...to which you guys had to say how right you were, when neither of us were, and then the one guy can't admit that there was a misunderstanding...and then someone else has to try to ease it down with a "shut up" then a crappy little happy face by it.

okay, now ill drop it. and i hate when people just say...don't respond because i told you not to. ill drop it...i don't really care if you want to respond to this...i'm fine with...just as long as its not put off as 'shut up cello because you're an idiot that doesn't deserve the right to type'

the end

coreybyrnes 04-21-2005 11:05 PM

first off i would never say shut up in the manner in which you received it... which is why i put a smiley next to it... it was a laughing "shut up" hoping that you realized how ridiculous this thread had gotten... oh well... you're right, i'm wrong, i'm sorry... peace be with you...
