yay!
it says it´s an exclusive swiss/german show so no more shows in Germany this summer then...

from googletranslate:
He is one of the most important singer / songwriters of recent years: Damien Rice. As a welcome guest in Lucerne, he is in July with his new album 'My Favourite Faded Fantasy' honor. His distinctive voice and the delicate melodies fill the KKL concert hall with life on 22 July. This is an exclusive Swiss German Show in the summer 2015th

I went to this festival in 2007 to see Damien and David Gray. It was amazing. Still by far the most amazing venue I have ever been to and I've been to a bunch. If you have the opportunity to go please do. The city. The food. The music. The history. The lake. The women. The parties. All amazing. I met damien after this show. It was just after the break up so he wasn't in a great mood but it is still one of my most cherished memories.

glo32 01-26-2015 08:06 AM

I'd say it won't be a proper tour then, just a festival tour... There is no way he does a proper tour and skips Germany.

Anyway, if you guys can go, GO! The venue is absolutely amazing, I fell in love with it when I went to see Damien there two years ago.
Tickets are a bit too expensive for me though, but they're already on sale: http://www.ticketcorner.ch/Tickets-b...from=erdetaila

Argh...:smiley5:

I was there 2 years ago, it's a beautiful place,
but the price !
:smiley24:
Waouh !

carrroline 01-26-2015 12:44 PM

yeah… Lucerne is incredibly beautiful, the venue is amazing, not too big, perfect acoustics.
I was there 2 years ago and it was simply perfect.
I would love to go this year as well, but I'm already going to Ireland, so I'm afraid, I'll have to skip this one.

borneoman 01-26-2015 01:09 PM

125 € for a tix is abussive

but Caroline, you were also there 2 years ago for Damien??? were you also at the lake aftershow? A bunch of us were there...

carrroline 01-26-2015 01:16 PM

There are several categories with different prices though… The cheapest category is 'only' 50 CHF (+/- 51 euro)

Yes, I was there, Marti, aftershow included. :)

glo32 01-26-2015 01:34 PM

Yes but the cheapest category is, like, the last row :(

You're right !
And the cheapest category is "near" sold out at the moment,
and the 75 ChF category is quiet the same...

Only 100 and 125 ChF are available.

(sorry it's again on sale......)

glo32 01-26-2015 03:52 PM

Ok I see they're opening the balconies so maybe the 4th balcony is all 50 and 75 CHF tickets...

Anyway, do we know if this is listed as a solo gig anywhere, or we have some hope that it will be with a band?

Chrysler 01-26-2015 05:31 PM

wow, thats really expensive. I just checked how much the tickets in category 1 were last time - 80 CHF. Thats a prise rise of nearly 55%, but its the only non real "festival" gig in europe is it? he plays weekdays and the EUR just lost 20% of its value. So i will let this one go too.

I will attend Primavera Sound though. :) only damien gig for me this year :(

borneoman 01-26-2015 06:25 PM

The Irish ones are also proper gigs non-festivals

cactus360 01-28-2015 04:26 PM

Just bought one ticket.....7th row like in 2012!
It's quite sold out

cuuliem 07-21-2015 09:30 PM

seems it's gonna rain, so no aftershow

Chrysler 07-22-2015 02:01 PM

Perhaps hes doing a pre-show *Fingers crossed*

have a fantastic gig, people!

Shillelagh 07-22-2015 03:34 PM

So beautiful. That place will forever hold a special place in my heart. Such a magical little town.

glo32 07-22-2015 06:01 PM

Yes, great memories in that venue and the area around it.
Everyone going to the gig tonight - have fun!

carrroline 07-22-2015 07:11 PM

Same here. Wish I could be there.
Enjoy!

borneoman 07-22-2015 07:17 PM

last time in Blueballs was amazing, starting the show with Fool, onstage for Volcano, playing Bastard for the first time on stage (requested by me!!)
and then that aftershow by the lake with the first ever Trusty & True!!!!

Chrysler 07-22-2015 11:04 PM

He was in a pissy mood again and played the Best Bastard ever imho. Along with rootless tree and accidental babies

glo32 07-22-2015 11:30 PM

why the bad mood?
****ty audience? (I doubt it, though, when I was at Blue Balls it was very respectful)

InspirationDestination 07-23-2015 12:18 AM

Oh no!! Pissy, in that he was just quiet or confrontational with the audience?

cuuliem 07-23-2015 01:03 AM

He was awesome. Volcano played with the clarinet and some German soundlike words and with the loop. I he did two requests rootless tree from me and accidental babies from Caticat on guitar. The blowers daughter unamplified

That's all I can remember...

I got a huge hug from him after the show.

He wore a T-shirt all scrambled on the back. I asked him if he sewed it to fix it. He nod for a yes.
Bad news for the patchwork shirt it's officially dead he told me

InspirationDestination 07-23-2015 01:49 AM

Awesome about the sewing, but I'm upset about the patchwork shirt. I was hoping it was in the bottom of a drawer somewhere. I also love that tshirt with the star when he shaved his hair into a mohawk. I wonder if he has that. And the brown blazer.

So glad u got a hug. Is that your first with all the shows you've gone to? I didn't see him do the one-armed man hug with male fans. I think he is an equal opportunity hugger. The hugs are hearty and substantial, right?

You got 2 songs from my wish list! If you're doing the rest of the European leg, could you use your cheeky bastard skills for Is that it my friend or quill (I think the picture says Ink & the Quill)!! I like how you snuck in "quill" in France too. If you get Quill, you have to come to Red Rocks!

cuuliem 07-23-2015 06:22 AM

Before the Last song (TBS) everybody were clapping, cheering at him. He found it funny binding our hands together and starting mimicking and doing the noise of a sea lion. "Its better than farting" as he recalls

borneoman 07-23-2015 08:30 AM

Setlist??
Aftershow??
why the bad mood??

borneoman 07-23-2015 08:36 AM

We've got hugs many times, sure he's an equal hugger, other times we went for the more traditional handshake ;-)
