I guess you know Alt+J, Poliça, The Staves?
They'll all be represented.

Sam Amidon (who's one of my favs) will be there as well.

I'm supposed to get back home from Scotland the 1st of October, so I'm not sure that I can make it, but I'll try!

I guess you all following this in instagram :) there was first a pic a couple days ago of Damo with Aaron (The National), like if they had been playing all night ;D and today there's a pic of Aaron also in the building with Lisa :)

Please report on this after this weekend, with lots of details! This seems like such a phenomenal, innovative event! So excited for everyone who is going. I'm soooo sad I can't be there!!!

I imagine someone is filming this, so I hope there will be a documentary of some sort.

borneoman 09-30-2016 10:20 AM

hope this is not too gossip-y... but from a review at Bon Iver's album launch at the Michelberger yesterday:
"Damien Rice and Lisa Hannigan were chatting in the bar" :)

Everyone there - have fun!
There's a video on Damien's Facebook page with a brief part of ITALTKAM with a big chorus... I'm excited and I'm not even there!

amazing weekend so many highlights
we were in the lucky group I think cos we saw so many amazing stuff

- Damo solo, 3 times :)
- Bon Iver so many times, solo acoustic doing old songs, with the band doing the whole new album, with Fionn Regan, with the National guys
- lots of Lisa, a solo set in the main stage, with Stargaze, with The National bros, with the Women choir...
- Kings of Convenience, who even did an aftershow :D

we saw Damo 3 times, twice he did the same, first Back to her Man, which was amazing and preceded why the story of how he saw him with his mum, sisters, aunt gf, ex-bf and all fell for him, very funny and the performance was flawless... which was followed by It Takes a Lot a cappella with a choir... then last time we saw Damo with Gyda, her set, in a small room, she was amazing and in the end they did a song together...

Shillelagh 10-04-2016 05:04 PM

No Damien and Lisa together?

Some of us weren't that lucky and missed the third performance because they were in another studio, with a dance performance from hell :crybaby2:

i made a video of that so you are saved :)

The Funny thing is that i had two chances to record back to her man and it takes a lot, but never succeed (dunno why) but what i did record (accidentally) is hours of that awful electronic set from the mail hall. So if you interested in that... :D

carrroline 10-04-2016 06:25 PM

Haha :)
You're a legend!
Thanksbutnothanks for the electronics :p

mattministrator 10-04-2016 09:32 PM

I was also there, but sadly didn't get to see Damien at all! Two mindblowing Bon Iver sets, though, lots of Lisa (women's choir, main hall, show with the Dessner twins...) and so many other great performances by people entirely unknown to me before. Definitely a weekend to remember. Damien and the choir would have been the icing on the cake, of course. The videos are amazing. Did he also do Trusty and true with a choir?

mattministrator 10-04-2016 09:33 PM

(And no, as far as I can tell, Damien and Lisa were never in the same room.)

borneoman 10-05-2016 08:27 AM

and did you tape the Bon Iver solo show? the first one we got...

I'm totally obsessed with the cover of I Can't Make You Love Me that he did...

Yes and also yes die These Fiat Bon Iver show

mattministrator 10-05-2016 08:12 PM

Just as a disclaimer, they may well have met somewhere, but I don't think a stage reunion took place since I think word on that would have spread by now. That said, there was so much going on at the same time in different locations that I may have just missed them like I missed all of Damien's performances. :-)

Nice write-up of the weekend in general:

mattministrator 10-05-2016 08:16 PM

Oh, and Jan! I'm also highly interested in any recordings you made of the weekend! :-) Seems like you saw lots of other things than me, which is unsurprising as it was part of the concept. Also hope the "official" documentation Michelbergermusic mentioned will be made available sooner rather than later.

borneoman 10-06-2016 07:24 AM

yep, looks like Damo & Lisa met at the Michelberger bar while watching Bon Iver but not on stage...
