Wie komme ich am besten zum rathaus?
How do i get to the town hall?</font>

Um die ecke.
Round the corner.</font>

Well that's all i know!

Patricia 04-03-2004 04:36 PM

I like Berlin dialect...

Ick liebe dir, aber nur, wenn du mir och liebst!

Angela 04-03-2004 06:02 PM

It's about time we have a German thread!

Ich hoere gerade Interpol's 'Turn On The Bright Lights' - hatte ich eine Weile nicht mehr gehoert.

Martin, what do you want at the town hall?
(= Was willst du im Rathaus? )

#Ian# 04-03-2004 08:10 PM

For some reason durchfall was always my favourite German word. The literal translation is brilliant.

In fact.

Ich liebe durchfall.

Angela 04-03-2004 08:39 PM

Durchfall? Yuo like diarria? Oh well, to each their own, I guess

#Ian# 04-03-2004 08:41 PM

The word, not the actual thing.

Miss Pink 04-03-2004 09:05 PM

Whats the german for Jumping, bitte?

Charmin, innit?

I love you, but only, if you love me, too! ('Ick liebe dir, aber nur, wenn du mir ooch liebst!')

Here goes another berlin one: 'Ditt jeht ma am Arsch vorbei!' (very harsh for 'I don't care a pap for it!')

Thank you

Is "Curry King" a frozen thing or something you can store in the Speisekammer? I do my German food shopping over the internet They have Bratwurst and Wiener (I'm not really into either), but sometimes I indulge in Bavarian Weisswurst
