Really don't like Groovin', I think someone said he wrote ti when he was 16 or so. It sounds like it.

Daniel 06-21-2004 09:03 AM

not a big fan of "Amie" anymore

agreed too!!

I do have to admit though that i do like the live Manson version

gosh, that typo was repated too many times...sorry! can't spell. of course i meant "sweet dramas". the famous eurythmics tunes, as covered by mr. marilyn manson. that should be sorted out now...

Tarantino put this into Kill Bill 2, it is a conversation beteen Elle and Bud, discussing Hatari Hanso swords (sp?), some believe it is a metaphor for the people who dissed Jackie Brown after Pulp Fiction and I believe it is true of Damien Rice:

Elle asks Bud if the Bride's Hanso sword was better than his and he replies with something like...

"If you are comparing Hatari Hanso swords, you have to compare it against every other sword made..." or something along those lines... I.E. the worst Hanso sword is still probably better than any other sword ever made...

You get me or am I drinking too much coffee?

Juzzza 06-21-2004 12:50 PM

Hmmm, enough of the weird movie, metaphor crap...

I like 'em all, but will skip Cheers Darlin' if I am in the car... It kinda gives me road rage but only because I have felt that bitterness before... That is a testament to his writing skills and ability to connect with the listener by the way and not an admission that it is my least fave song.

I was lucky, as I played 'O' to death and hungered for more, I found this world with 'the professor' (my fave DR song to play and listen to) 'woman like a man' 'moody monday' and so on... It was like discovering a chest of gold.

Wise man Juzza once say ..... ..... makes sense to me mate.

I didn't like Cheers Darlin' until my ex-girlfriend started going out with a new guy. I'd play it to myself whenever I wanted to feel sorry for myself...

I like the song now tho, it's quite interesting, if you listen closely there's lots of things going on. Vocally it's probably not that interesting, but the clarinet (or whatever it is - anyone know for sure, french-horn?) melody is great.

cille 06-21-2004 01:05 PM

yeah, i hear ya juzza! and only had a cuppa tea, so...

oh btw, it's moody mooday, not moody monday. just saying. the misconception seems to be around alot (i thought it was monday too once, untill some smartass told me)

fmmc 06-21-2004 01:39 PM

well id have to say i kinda got tired of eskimo on o,just listened to it too much, apart from that probably moody mOOday or have any of ye heard a version of blowers daughter without lisa and damien does her part, its just too high for him but you have to give credit to the guy for trying!best damo song i remember or the professor, legend.

Hey..been reading the forums for a while...but don't think I've ever posted. Feel like I know all the regulars who post.

Anyhow, I would say my least favorite DR song is Tongue. The lyrics are good but the whole thing overall just doesn't do it for me. O- Iused tofoward through Eskimo to get to Prague..(I used to think it was too much) but its grown on me since.

Favorite is - Insane
