Atlanta, Georgia Show

I'm curious if anyone here is planning on attending the Atlanta show in May. I'm doing my best to convince my wife to let me come!

drumworkshop 03-03-2007 03:01 AM

I will be there. This will only be my second time seeing Damien, and I'm thrilled it's at the Tabernacle. Do you know, is the floor actually general admission or is it reserved seating b/c the Ticketmaster page contradicts itself. Either way, I'm there.

Rovena 03-03-2007 03:09 AM

I'll be there, too. And if you guys know a good place to stay, please let me know. I'll be flying in from Florida and leaving the day after the gig. I'm also curious to know if the floor is GA; I've tried calling the Tabernacle, but I couldn't get in touch with anyone.

shyatt3 03-03-2007 12:49 PM

I plan on calling them about the seating deal, I know what you mean about them contradicting themselves. I'll let you know if I find anything out.

shyatt3 03-03-2007 02:09 PM

I'm still finding it impossible to get hold of anyone. From what I can tell so far though, it seems as though floor seating is available, it just depends on whether or not it is an option for each individual show, which still doesn't help us too much. I found a seating chart here if its of any use: http://www.ticketmaster.com/seatingchart/115031/17556. I'm going to keep trying to talk to someone.

drumworkshop 03-03-2007 02:34 PM

Right now I have 4 tickets on the floor, center section towards the back. I was going to try for better tickets on the general on sale date but I don't want to be buying more floor tickets if it's general admission. Doors open at 5 and show won't start until 8! I don't think I want to stand around in the venue for 3 hours to get a good spot, especially driving from Orlando, FL. If the floor does turn out to be GA I'll try for front row balcony I guess.

Regardless, should be an amazing time. The venue itself is tiny. I was surprised myself last December when I saw Ray LaMontagne there how small it was inside. Any seat truly can't be that bad of a seat. As far as hotels, there is a Howard Johnson w/complimentary breakfast only about two or three blocks from the venue. This is where I stayed last time, it's not bad.

shyatt3 03-03-2007 03:46 PM

I've never been there before. I'm still going to try to get hold of someone to find out for sure what the deal is.

:hello: I'll be flying from Florida, too! See you all there.

Did you book your flights yet? I've been looking for a good deal.

Rue Saint-Denis 03-03-2007 11:51 PM

No, all the prices are unjustified. I could fly to France for the same price!

Seriously, I'll just drive from Orlando. It won't be bad, I did it for LaMontagne.

Rovena 03-04-2007 03:24 AM

Tickets are ranging all the way from $158 to $400...It's ridiculous! I don't know whether to book the flight now, or wait till later. There are good deals on last minute flights, but I don't know if I wanna take the risk.

Can I just say I'm sorry for spelling GEORGIA incorrectly, I couldn't change it after the fact. Geez. Anyway, it may just be cool to meet up with some of you guys and gals at the show if we can all make it. I've still been trying to find something out about the floor situation but if you call The Tabernacle every option seems to lead to automation, so I can't find an actual living, breathing person.

Yeah, I remember trying to contact them once it it took probably 3-4 months for them to reply by email. I think we're better off getting an answer out of Ticketmaster.

shyatt3 03-04-2007 03:47 AM

I tried that too but didn't get anything. Their site basically says there aren't seats in one place and then it says there are in another and the only reference I seem to get are seating charts. But the Tabernacle site says that there are seats offered on the floor for some shows and not for others. Wow, how complex must it be. I suppose before long I'm just going to want tickets period and won't care where.

Rue Saint-Denis 03-04-2007 04:21 AM

Just in case they are general admission, get there early.

shyatt3 03-04-2007 04:26 AM

Thank you.

drumworkshop 03-06-2007 03:01 AM

For anyone still looking for tickets, I just pulled 2nd row section 103 on the floor. Looks like they're slowly letting go of some of the prime seats.

Rovena 03-06-2007 03:03 AM

I think that that's exactly what they're doing...because on the first day of the presale I could only get tickets to row H, section 102, but the second day I got tickets for row B, section 101.

Yeah, looks like I'll be selling my row P tickets.

shyatt3 03-06-2007 03:16 AM

How's row A section 103?

Great seats, front row

shyatt3 03-06-2007 03:25 AM

Yeah, that's what I thought, and my wife says "we can't afford it". I will find a way to afford it! Oh yes, I will!

Have you ever gone to a show? You should really try and convince her, it will be hell of a time, especially in those seats. The Tabernacle is great.

No I haven't gotten to see him yet though I've been dying to. I'm working my best magic on her, too bad she knows most of the game plans already :crybaby2: . I may just buy the tickets anyway with the premise that I can always sell them later should we really not be able to afford it.

You should, you'll easily be able to sell those too. That way, if you ever come to making a decision you will have prime seats either way.

shyatt3 03-06-2007 03:42 AM

Sounds I like just need to have you speak to my wife about it :icon_pray ha ha ha.

Lolz, will do. Where in SC are you coming from?

shyatt3 03-06-2007 03:54 AM

Spartanburg, so it is only around a 3 to 3 and a half hour drive there. I've been several places for shows in Atlanta, just never the Tabernacle.

shyatt3 03-06-2007 04:44 AM

I just broke down and did it, I got the tickets and put them on my "special" credit card. I'm in section 103 row A (front row should rock nicely) seats 5 and 6. So here is a heads up to everyone that I just may have these available if my wife decides to kick my butt!!! :director:
