Did you describe their shape, colour and seed pattern? Because then you should be biggin' yo self up as the grand-daddy of Genetics.

I think you need a Guinness, lad.

Rai 12-04-2008 07:45 AM

^No, because their colours and shape are the same and the have no seeds. (also, I didn't get them from the plant, so I can do no proper genetic inquiries without a lab and a dozen grad students.

How can I get a Guinness? They don't really sell it here! There are some Irish pubs in BCN but I usually stay away from those places because by rule they are rubbish.

My weekend in Valencia will get a bit more interesting since due to a wee problem I´m stuck with about 15 euros till monday morning. Anyway, I bought two kilos of the cheapest thing I can eat without anything else being needed, which are, thankfully for my study, mandarines, this was two euros so I have 13 left for the important thing: alcohol.

Joyful 12-05-2008 04:49 PM

^ mandarines and booze: the meal of champions :D
You need to meet a sugar mama.

Check out Phil Hansen's "Goodbye Art" (love the name!). He does these art pieces with all sorts of materials and documents the process to later destroy them ... He's got some awesome stuff.

I think this one is really cool:
Quote:

This is part of a series of pieces that I am titling "goodbye art" because there is nothing left for me to keep at the end. I make a new piece each week and have a theme, the theme for the month is "Fire" so each piece will involve fire in some way.

Also i don't if anybody is interested in this but Life magazine recently released their photographic archive and its now available through google (http://images.google.com/hosted/life). I was taking a look earlier today i can already see how this will become my pass-time for coming days. Too many photographs and not enough time!

Rai will like this one :)

^Sure I do, he's one of my great idols :)

While sitting on a bus here in Barcelona going home I realised that I was reading a book in Nahuátl/Spanish while listening to music in Ainu and having another book (a present) about Chinese writing at hand. And I saw that its a bit strange.

Did the drunk thread disappear with the server crisis? I couldn't find it, though i'm not in the state for searching for anything... I never thought that teachers had soomuch fun on the last day of school. I had about a lot of beers and asome champagne and wine and also some (a lot) of great Spanish food. And I played a toy accordeon while in a bar at around noon... Also, It was my first time ever when I played a teacher-student football match (two of them) on the teacher's side. We lost. But we beat the girls in Volleyvall three of four times!

Pfuhh... I feel rather happy at the moment even though I haven't really slept uch and I drank more...

Sadly we did not get the karaoke working, there was some problem witht heh connection between the PS2 and the telly, it would have been hilarious.

Teaching is fun...

i took part at a flash mob today and it was loads of fun! :hello2: exactly at 15:00 everyone knowing about this froze in the movement on st. stephens square in vienna (which is pretty big) for several minutes. you should've seen the faces of the people not knowing about this! just brilliant!

anyone ever done a flashmob him/herself?

^Do massive political strikes count? back in december 2002 in Venezuela schools, companies, stores and basically everyone that worked and was against our "lovely" government stopped and went out to the streets everyday and just 'marched' as a demonstration, and then at night at 7pm everyone would take their pots and pans and make noise on their balconies also as a mass demonstration... it was fun even though very unfortunate things happened, but fun times indeed..

Anywho, in keeping with the political theme, i found the perfect inauguration day t-shirt for us girls: Obama rides a unicorn!

I think its cute!

Rai 12-30-2008 08:55 AM

^Nah, this is just a reworking of an old internet meme:

Subzero temperatures over here for a second week in a row now. Very cold. But at least everything looks bright and clean.

I took these today.

nice pictures. i love the first one!
we don´t have any snow in buenos aires :(

hazey 01-09-2009 11:00 PM

^Thanks. Oh lucky you, at least you're warm! I wish that was all snow in the pictures, though; it's part snow, part glazed frost instead. Poor duckies and other birdies. Their ponds are frozen and nobody comes to feed them.

verenita 01-09-2009 11:04 PM

oh, you´re right. poor them.

hazey 01-09-2009 11:19 PM

Also, poor people in Eastern Europe whose gas supply has been cut off by Russia and Ukraine for days now. Stuff like that really makes me furious.

Cerque 01-10-2009 12:00 AM

How do you post images with a link?
