Don't know anything about Genesis, but The Frames isn't sold out yet and won't be for at least a few weeks (but maybe it will never sell out). If you come from Schiphol (the airport of Amsterdam ;)), there's a direct line by train to go to Utrecht... that'll cost you half an hour. And then it's 10 (if you get lost 15) minutes by foot to Tivoli Oudegracht (where The Frames play).

But if you want to go to Amsterdam first... don't know how long that'll take you, but from Amsterdam central station it's half an hour again to Utrecht. So it's faster to go directly from Schiphol to Utrecht... you can see timetables on www.ns.nl

And if you want to buy tickets for The Frames... go to www.ticketmaster.nl

Oh, by the way... The Frames are playing the 24th in Holland too... for free! At Parkpop in The Hague, we don't know what time yet, but if it's before the Damien Rice gig, we'll be there too :).

Don't know, I hope it's not because of The Frames, because they're playing enough times in Holland ;)

But you still have the New Year's Eve concerts of The Frames... but we're planning to com to Dublin this New Year's eve, if the Frames are playing again a concert then...

Tks Snoops

Thats really useful thanks. I will likely go straight from the airport though it will depend what supplies my sister wants as to how packed my bags are.
Dilemma for nexct day then-stay in Den Haag and be close to sisters place and miss amien or try and do both of those too! I recall coming back from a night out in AMS a year ago and I had to wait 4 hours for the Central station to open again and got stuck with this American guy who droned on about teachign guys guitar-was ok at first but thought he sounded a little dodgy as he had a young guy with him.....
Thanks anyhow and I may see you at some of the dates then!
I have my Genesis ticket which sold out ages ago.
Cheers
Lenny

You're welcome :) There's a cloakroom at Tivoli too... so you can leave your bags there if you need it (or in a safe at the central station). Both costs money, but you don't have to go to Amsterdam first :).

And about the trains... there are night trains between Utrecht, Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam and some smaller places in between... Every hour there's a night train although it's kinda far to travel by night train from Utrecht to Rotterdam or the other way around, because you stop at Amsterdam, Schiphol, The Hague etc etc until you are at the end of the line in Rotterdam (2,5 hours or something). But you don't need to travel that during the night, so it'll be fine :). Just keep the timetable in mind so you don't have to wait for almost an hour :).

Good luck and hope to see you at the Frames gig in Tivoli! I'll definately be there (and at Damien's too, but that venue is a little bit bigger ;)).

Accidental Baby 04-09-2007 09:48 PM

Hm, we're also considering to attend the Frames gig in Utrecht. I actually prefer Glen's solo material, but heard they're a great live band, so... hmpf.

But I'm in Thailand at the moment and won't be back home for a couple of weeks!

Oh well, when is Parkpop?

SnoopS 04-10-2007 08:01 AM

24th of June in The Hague...

Devilock 04-11-2007 08:59 AM

Dank u.

Marit 04-12-2007 01:24 PM

I would have loved to see damien again in Amsterdam, but the tickets are too expensive for me. And nobody wants to go with me, so I'm not going. I'm glad I have already seen him in Tilburg a month ago. :)

Martine 05-24-2007 11:30 PM

...and it's sold out for a couple of days. I'll be there :hello2:
Maybe I'm gonna catch a show abroad, coupled with a vacation, witch I haven't booked yet.

Our tickets for The Frames are in as well, so maybe we'll see you guys there :)

SnoopS 06-08-2007 09:40 PM

Somebody on another forum attended me on something new... (????)

On the Mojowebsite (uhh... don't know what they do exactly, but it's realible...
On this site it says:

Quote:

24 jun 2007
Damien Rice
Heineken Music Hall, Amsterdam ZO
Uitverkocht
artiest(en) Damien Rice
voorprogramma Vyvienne Long and Joel Shearer
aanvang 20:00 uur
start voorverkoop za, 7 apr 2007
entree €36.00 €39.00 €42.00
It says support act (voorprogramma): Vyvienne Long and Joel Shearer

I don't really believe it... think the Damien Rice website must be right... and that this is a mistake.

Rens 06-09-2007 05:20 AM

Hi all,
Unfortunately I won't be able to attend HMH on 24 June but I have two tickets available, anyone.....
Cheers Darlings,

It would be sooo cool though eh!

SnoopS 06-09-2007 03:43 PM

If Joel and Vyv are still in Damien's band as well... yes.
But otherwise: NO!

But I don't really believe it to be honest.

Lin@ 06-13-2007 06:24 PM

Did anyone try to find out whether it's true? Emailed them or something?

I'd really like to know if it's true. Actually I've been thinking about it before I read this, cause I really really like Vyv's EP and Pedestrian's "Ghostly Life". Would love to hear Joel's voice singing more than just background vocals...
It would be sooo cool indeed.

SnoopS 06-14-2007 09:16 AM

I didn't check it.. too lazy ;). But if you do, please let us know. I think i'll find out the 24th ;).

Accidental Baby 06-14-2007 03:46 PM

Triskel2004 06-14-2007 08:08 PM

For the uninitiated

heh heh I have just asked my brother in law to translate this to the tune of something like -Last minute attempt to get budget accommodation in Utrecht and Amsterdam? Bear in mind I had to attempt to speak this over the phone but he either understood me or was just being polite and has nothing to do with what I just said!
I am lucky enough to be based in Den Haag albeit not exactly close to these gigs but not sure what a night in Utrecht would be like then simply get a very late train?
Let me know how close I was/am?
:o)
THE Manx fan........

Accidental Baby 06-14-2007 08:49 PM

I was actually only looking for a budget accomodation in Utrecht, but hey, close enough! ;) We don't really feel like travelling both saturday and sunday, so it'd be nice to just make it a weekend in Utrecht. Are you attending the Frames gig?

Triskel2004 06-14-2007 09:00 PM

Hi Accidental

Yes I will be at the Tivoli for the Frames gig-I had hoped to see them NYE but my flight got cancelled from the Isle of Man (only 25mins away) because of severe weather! Now is my chance. Aiming to catch Glen and Co Sat,Damo Sunday and ahem Genesis the following Sunday!
So Mr+Mrs A.Baby attending the Glen/Damo gigs then?

Well, apart from the fact that there's no Mrs A. Baby, the answer to that would be: yes ;)

First time seeing The Frames.

Martine 06-15-2007 07:29 AM

Show time

I can't make it to The Frames :crybaby2: I wanna hear them live once.

Does anybody knows the show times, 'cause the news of 29 May was Damiens performance will commence earlier than normal at the following shows as there are no special guests performing on the night. Door and stage times will be announced nearer the time on the live page.
Haven't seen any more info yet....

SonicPulse 06-18-2007 03:10 PM

yeah, heard about it too but didn't get any more info than you did. Glad I got the tickets for damien in the hmh :)

4duckie2hear 06-20-2007 09:06 PM

Little bit moreinfo on mojo.nl.
Aanvangstijden (onder voorbehoud):
20.00 uur: Vyvienne Long en Joel Shearer
20.50 uur: Damien Rice

Artiesten
Damien Rice Voorprogramma: Vyvienne Long and Joel Shearer
Onder voorbehoud means with reservation (if that is the correct translation), so nothing is for sure...

Martine 06-21-2007 11:02 PM

The site of the HMH says the opening act is Vyvienne Long and Joel Shearer

Oh, I see the times are with reservation
Well, let's wait and see/hear

4duckie2hear 06-22-2007 07:57 AM

It almost must be true, with both Mojo and HMH saying the same thing. So cool! Love to see Vyv doing her thing. :hello2:

Coralie 06-24-2007 03:12 PM

Pedestrian (Joel Shearer's band) just confirmed that they're opening for Damien tonight at 8 pm... Don't know about Vyvienne, maybe she'll play with them :)

Be there on time ;)
