Luzern

First - I can't find the frickin exclamation point on these German computers so have lost some effect....

Second - to anyone who hasn't been to Luzern it is absolutely unbelieveably beautiful - we went to the top of Mount Pilatus today and could see into Germany - unreal.

There were two cameras floating around the show tonight - dvd????

The first fifteen rows were half vacant - more to come......

Set list and notes:

Amie (acoustic)>spaceship
The Professor(acoustic)>La Fille Danse
9 Crimes - piano (vyv/joel)
Volcano
Older Chests (unplugged w/Vyv)
Grey Room

Lawnmower story - autumn - spring - relationships (put away and forget to "oil" it and care for it to pass through the winter of a relationship- song about a # of damaged lawnmowers!

Coconut Skins>
Woman Like a Man
Accidental Babies (piano - awesome with the acoustics)

Story - after abusing the front row empty seats (was great and all us in the balcony screaming) - song about feeling distant until you realize u have lost it and your attention focuses on the physical pain until you realize all in front of you is truly awesome.

Eskimo
Blowers Daughter
I Remember >Bang Bang (used accoustics to almost dead (silent - best I have heard yet of any recording - there was this gal in front of us that was a poster child of drugs gone bad on bad emotions - she was totally balling and hysterical the whole
show and then left - and then the freak called her boyfriend at the very most silent moment of bang bang - brutal!!!)

Encore

Prior to the encore the Blue balls spokesman came out and WAS TOTALLY BOO'D by the crowd for the bull**** seating - was AWESOME (lack of exclamation point really hurting).

Cannonball (acoustic unplugged)

They frickin cut short the encore as the festival was overtime - total assholes.

PS. Shane was great with Blair - you could tell the whole show he was leading him.

Over and out - snagged third row center for David Gray tomorrow - PSYCHE (exclamation point).

Blair wasn't there tonight... The drummer now is Brendan Buckley (since the italian gigs)

I don't think the cameras were from Damo's crew. They were probably filming some footage for some Blue Balls festival highlight shows or something on Swiss TV. But that's only my impression. I just thought that Damo seemed to be slightly bothered by the cameras at the beginning. I don't know.

The beginning in general was a little bit weird, I thought. He seemed very tired and his voice sounded a little bit hoarse. But after a couple of songs it got better and I really enjoyed it. Woman Like a Man rocked as hell! I finally got to hear "Accidental Babies" live which made me shed some tears. And I'm not really a big fan of the song to be honest. At least not the album version. Eskimo was amazing as well, and the rest... well, let's just say that I can't wait to see him in Stuttgart on Tuesday. :hello2:

And by the way: I have never ever heard a crowd shouting so loudly for an encore. It was awesome. And this stupid organiser guy was a complete idiot. :smiley11:

Agreed on the beginning - honestly I was worried about this gig as it was his fourth in four nights (but he really doesn't tour enough - oh yeah that was a different thread :smiley2: ). Yes I totally agree on Accidental Babies - and while he didn't play any unreleased stuff I thought the show was great with damo really settling in and obviously in a good mood. I am still amazed at the acoustics of kkl - and I remember/bang bang was absolutely stunning. Can't wait for david gray tonight......

I am still pissed off today about all the empty seats - and they are saying in our hotel this will be the last blue balls festival - if that idiot last night is any representation then that makes total sense.

Yeah, he is. It already startled me at the gig. And the more I think about it, the more I'm convinced that he just got out of bed when he came on stage. :smiley2: Cause that would also explain his voice being so hoarse at the beginning.

Thanks for the link, by the way! Can't wait for the whole thing. :hello2:

Killer show

eskimo!

I remember!

I had last row 4th balcony tickets and as i was walking in this swiss miss i had met outside and had a beer with asked if i wanted to sit 20th row with her and her friend i love europeans

met Damo after the show as well as the new drummer and guitarist/bongist
he's very cool came over and shook my hand and talked for a sec he was surprised there was an american in switzerland and i said there were a few (david)

I asked him to add a chicago show to the US leg and he said that they were playing chicago and i told him i didnt think so he said hed try to add but i think he was just being nice
offered to buy him a pint but he said he was on his way out to germany and he really wanted to see part of seal...beats me?

not even a wee drop, damo?

Anyone tape the show?

or tape david gray

he was having a little trouble

I think the crew was drunk

Hah thanks for that - when we met him in Louisville we mentioned we were going but I am sure all that goes in one ear and out the other.....

Yes great show but I liked dgray's better (see below)!!

JESUS!!

I actually thought he handled really well and was funny about it.

Take a look at my post in Other Music on the show - we were the ones in fourth row center who he was having fun with over my wife's constant "shsssng" and were the reason for his cracking up and laughing throughout Long Black Veil!! And then looking straight at me and grinning at the "drunken gibberish" line in Sail Away - funny!! :hello2:

Shillelagh Craic 27 07-23-2007 05:40 PM

i yelled out Jesus!!!! after he couldnt get the guitar tuned

"we'll take amatuer hour" was the line , right?
