LA Set List!
Greatest Bastard
I Remember Woman Like a Man Rootless Tree Cold Water / Hallelujah Amie The Professor Wild and Free (The Box) Don't Wanna Change You 9 Crimes New song cheers darlin' Made up song Favorite Faded Blowers Daughter Volcano Order might be slightly off, but I think those were all the songs. |
for real??? he did MFFF and Change You both??
and also another new song? which one? and even a made up song??? |
Thank you!
That's more like it :) So what did the new song sound like? |
He did a partial MFFF. He said he's still learning it but that he'll definitely do it when he returns and when the album is out. He did do the complete Don't Wanna Change You, and the new song I didn't recognize, but it was lovely and he introduced it as a new song. I have a video of it I can share when I get a moment.
The made up song was linked to Cheers Darlin', started serious but quickly became funny (He kept saying 'death'). I loved hearing The Box live! |
I guess the new one was from the album? Heīs done Long Long Way (very slow, Cold Water-esque, starts: itīs a long long way to the top, long long way if you fall...) and also Trusty & True (more folkish, sounds like a traditional Irish song, starts: weīve wanted to be, trusty & true, but feathers fell from our wings)... not sure if that helps :)
|
Yes, I think it was Trusty and True! I hadn't heard it before but lyrics sound familiar and it definitely sounded like traditional Irish.
|
Is The Box in the new album?
|
Trusty & True, at least when he did in Lucerne, had a long ending that was Come,... Come, let yourself be wrong, Come, it’s already begun...come with friends... come with love, come with fear, come come come x repeated a million times :)
|
yes yes, The Box is in the new album!
|
Hope he learns it by the 14th (Toronto show) practice Damien practice! :)

I have the feeling we will not get much from this tour, in terms of videos and reviews... everyone seems to be on facebook now, sharing stuff with friends only...
|
befriend all eskimofriends on Facebook! ;)
but actually thereīs quite a few videos now from the SF show... not from LA cos I guess people are sleeping now sorry I cannot be of more help |

And the venues in Europe are a bit larger, so that will help too. |
great setlist! really looking forward to next week!!
|
and I donīt know why, but in my experience, Damo always puts much much much more effort in the LA shows relative to the SFO/Oakland area shows, not sure why... I went to all the Californian shows during the 9 tour and the Oakland shows were nice but kinda safe, never any surprise or rare song or unreleased, while the LA shows (Greek, Orpheum, El Rey) were much better and had far nicer set lists...
I donīt know maybe itīs cos the SFO shows are always first show on the tour. But clearly the show from LA yesterday is way better than the one 2 days before in SFO, at least for me. or maybe Damien just read in here about our complains :read2: so clearly he checks EF every now and then :) |
^ definitely :)
hi damien! :hello: |
What a great setlist! Can't wait to see him again!

Oh Shiiite! |
Nice changes! No matter what he plays when I see him live, I'm glad he's shaking it up. He's best when things feel organic rather than safe.

the first youtube videos |
Thanks for posting Carroline! I will post videos on you tube when I go see Damien at The Box. That would be so awesome to be on stage with him and singing volcano.
If anyone finds a trusty and true video from last night please post :) |

I'm in this! At about 1:10, follow the mic stand to the very end of the part that sticks out and I'm sitting right behind that in a blue shirt (I'm a girl). I ended up sitting at his wine table. |
After talking to a couple people in line I decided to come sign up here. Told her I hadn't been here in years. I can't believe my login still works!
Also, I'm just guessing but maybe the reason the LA shows seem to be better is that his label is here and he has a lot more people/friends to impress? |
