I can't believe I'm not going to the Aberdeen gig tonight. I really have to study :(
|
Arghhhh why did no-one tell me she's playing in Birmingham on Monday! Not only this but the venue is two minutes walk from my place. Is anyone from here going?
|
Anyone been to any of the gigs yet and seen Richie opening? Dude is an amazing songwriter,
|
I saw Lisa in Manchester on Sunday, absolutely amazing stuff, her voice and the band both! I didn't think she'd be that much better than even i'd remembered. Great cover of Lady Is A Tramp! :-)
Richie well worth checking out, enjoyed his set too! Oh, and a review: http://www.citylife.co.uk/music/revi...adows_to_shine |

^You should be able to! Won't she be in Ireland while you're in Ireland?
Thanks for the review! It's nice to hear she's being warmly received everywhere |
^^^ Thank you for the review, Dellboyy. After reading that review, I'm looking forward to seeing her play in Oxford more than ever!

Last night's set list was as follows:
Lisa Hannigan Memorial Hall @ Sheffield City Hall Sheffield UK 6th May 2009 Venn Diagram Pistachio Splishy Splashy Sea Song My Pirate Disco Playground Love Keep It All Courting Blues Teeth Queen of Hearts Ocean and a Rock The Lady is a Tramp Brolly Beats I Don’t Know Lille Couldn’t Love You More Free Until They Cut Me Down http://i382.photobucket.com/albums/o...2009-05-06.jpg |
London's Shepherds Bush Empire 13.05.09
Anyone at the gig last night? Great set, very easy-going. The band playd to a full house and everyone was loving it - standing ovation at the end (entirely seated gig). The band are certainly becoming a lot more polished and Lisa is really starting to shine as the frontwoman, she was a lot more engaging than when I saw her this time last year, there's obviously alot more confidence in both herself and her collection of songs. Setlist was same as the Sheffield gig posted above (although different order) apart from ommission of Queen of Hearts and i think, the inclusion of another track.
And it was really something for her to play two covers as her encore and bring the house down! She didn't mention anything about Playground Love, but is it a cover? Only heard the end of Jape, he was pretty good, but didn't seem to get much audience attention. |
