New song "Your Astronaut" played in Sicily
Hey guys, Damien just played a new song in Zafferna Etnea.
if you guys have facebook, you can find it here: https://www.facebook.com/federica.sc...6383056387232/ Sadly, I'm not sure how to embed the video here directly. I hope you guys can see it. |

love love love the new song
good he's brought the piano back on tour |
lyrics
I can be your brother Help you to hide I can blow your cover Pull the thorns from your side I can be your astronaut If you want some space Or I can hold mirrors Right in your face I can be the father That you never had Heaviest for what's harder And nearest for what's far (????) I can be your astronaut If you want some space Or I can hold mirrors Right in your face I can be the mother That sings you to sleep And loves you like no other Be the tears you can't weep I can be your astronaut If you want some space Or I can hold mirrors Right in your face Right in your Right in your I can hold mirrors |
I really like the song, even if I'm not that crazy about all the brother/father/mother thing.
Anyway, it also seems that he's playing around with the song... The video Marti posted was the first time he played it, in Zafferana, then he played a slower version in Caserta, a guitar version in the Instagram streaming, and now it looks like he just played an a cappella version in Ostia Antica. I hope videos surface of all those versions! |

Yes great song and very nice version in Ostia Antica !

As I hear the last lines of the third verse, he sings:
Have ease for what’s harder And ears for what’s sad. |
Tha sounds right to me too, thanks!

played again yesterday in Cap Roig, this time with a bit of intro about the song and whats about
"a song about the beauty of friendship and how unconditional and undemanding in some ways and really pure and beautiful friendship can be" <3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UuO12rOxJcw |
Odd to hear these reactions since, for me, those verses are easily the best written lyrics. Conversely, I really do not like the chorus at all. Too similar to a much greater song that he's already written. Too repetitious and waaaaay too cheezy. The guitar version on the boat was a vast improvement but I can't help feeling he could still do more. "Steal a Mule" was loaded with carefree charm and innocence. This one feels a bit forced.

Another piano version from Caserta:

I really like it. It's a bit on the sweet side but still very nice.
I love that the piano is back and the loop station is gone :D |
