Harris then prodded Osborne to play a new, intriguingly slinky love song she recorded with Trigger Hippy, the band she formed with singer-songwriter Jackie Greene and Black Crowes drummer Steve Gorman. She ceded the stage to Damien Rice, another singer too long out of the spotlight. With Harris adding soaring harmony, he offered a passionate version of one of his career-launching staples, “The Blower’s Daughter.”

Always with the random popping up here and there and odd venue appearances. I guess he's enjoying himself.

This is a dog poo article but whatever:

Many of the guests did their own thing on-stage as Harris and Crowell merely looked on, but a few, like Raitt, had rehearsed some harmonies with Emmylou -- including, most notably, Damien Rice, who has almost turned into a where-are-they-now case, not having released a studio album since his 2006 breakthrough. His vocals on “The Blower’s Daughter” counted as the loudest and most gorgeously passionate of the night, and the extra poignance that Harris’ harmony part brought to the lonesome tune only made its ironic “’Till I find somebody new” kicker all the more incongruous and made even Rice chuckle.

I guess in a way, I can understand him wanting to perform, but not wanting the fame anymore. I wouldn't want to be famous, I get it. But damn, I fooking miss him, and I didn't even know about him until after I saw Once in 2009, and then found him through a suggested youtube video, so I really missed out. Meh. I'm getting a passport and getting tickets to the next festival he performs in, whatever country he is in. I've never been out of fooking Uhmerica, and I'm ready to go. I feel like I was born in the wrong country. Sorry, just venting.

"Damien Rice, who has almost turned into a where-are-they-now case, not having released a studio album since his 2006 breakthrough." Research is gold... :D
