News:
An audience with Damien Rice On January 26th Damien will be performing a special one off matinee show exclusively for New York, playing a collection of new songs and in addition taking a selection of questions from the audience. |
Quote:
Very cool but I think that date is wrong. Ticketmaster and a couple of other places have the matinee as being at 4pm on the 25th, same day as the regular show. |
Yes, you're right,
but i don't know exactly, is it the 25 or the 26 january...? In the Mail i received it's written 26, but may be it's an error ! :icon_scra |
On the Bowery Presents page, it's on the 25 january !
|
So... are we assuming its the 25th? This is so sloppy.
|
Yes, i think it's really the 25th !
The same day as the show in the evening ! |
This is par for the course for Damien US ticket releases, to be honest. Anyone else remember when they use to screw up the on sale times every tour?
There are still seats available. I just got Orchestra G. It's been almost ten years since I did two Damien shows in a day, but this should really be something weird. |
I would have gone on the 26th. Can't do the 25th. Mostly I'm just pissed they gave me hope then snatched it away. Oh well.
|
And now they sent a new email clarifying it will be the 25th.
BUUUUUTTTTTTTTT The time is now in conflict. Ticketmaster says its a 4pm show. The new email says 3:30pm. https://i.postimg.cc/WzVrs2W0/Damien-Email.jpg |
I believe it's 3:30 doors, 4:00pm show. That's what the original email said and ticketmaster says.
|
|
Sorry, should have been more clear. The original email I got from Bowery Presents said 3:30 doors, 4pm show. I got the same DR email you got.
|
Makes sense. Cool.
|
Just in case,
i'm looking for a ticket for the evening show ? Thanks. :director: |
Very curious to see who / if there will be a support act. Looking forward to both shows on Friday - had seriously considered Boston, but it just didn't work out.
See some of you on Friday! |
I was thinking about a girl, like Gyda or Mariam for the opener,
but like in Boston he will probably be alone ! May be we can see some Eskimos...? |

This are going predictably weird at the Q & A matinee
01 Trusty and true 02 Delicate "the new songs are about friendship instead of romantic relationships... instead of asking for something from someone its about letting them know 'hey I'm here' 03 Astronaut "we finished a record two weeks ago" 04 100 miles 05 Rootless Tree Question about guitars, the guitar has four outputs, older guitars sound better but I don't know why, people have explained it to me and I forget 06 Stone 07 The Professor -> La Fille Danse Q2.... Sailing adventures. Songwriting is a toilet for me... I smear my emotional crap on other people... Delicate just pops out in no time at all... Q3 if you could only play one of your songs for the rest of your life, which would you choose? The last song I've written 08 DM A improv, Blue (one verse) 09 Elephant Q4 what's the biggest change in your life in ten years? I used to think romance is the key to love.... Saving my virginity for my true love... Then I realized the version of love I had in my head had been fed to me by movie and songs.... This perfect notion I had is the opposite of what true lov ewas... How to be great with someone else being everything they are instead of trying to mold them into this perfect notion of what true love is 10 The greatest Bastard Q5 influence from a generation older than you and who's making most honest music younger than you....... Prince, but I don't like the word influence.. More like inspired, why I picked up guitar... Soon after Leonard Cohen... He became a mountaintop to look to... Biggest influence on music is people I meet, the generosity and connections I have with meeting another living creature 11 When Doves Cry - - > 12 Famous Blue Raincoat |

So great to see Damien again-- it's been so long since he was last here. Wanted to add to "the song that 7 people have heard" that one of the lines that stuck out for me (perhaps part of the chorus) was, "you carry your bruises long past your fall". Great show; thank you for compiling the set list! |
The two songs were “No one need know” and “What you feel”.
I enjoyed both shows and really appreciate that Damien tried to play different songs. ❤️ Thanks for the set list! |

Thank you, Muan! |

The other "new" one is legitimately only like a month old, though. |
Bohemia, I was orchestra g for the matinee, balcony b evening.
I did not tape, hope someone else did? |

I poorly shorthanded his remark, in fact he agreed with this sentiment. What he actually said introducing the tune was roughly: this is an old new song,or maybe a new old song. I don't think anyone has heard it outside of like seven people might remember. I'm pretty sure I played it somewhere once. I took it as a literal shout out to folks like us tracking everything he ever played, no? |
thanks for the reviews and setlists guys. Nice that he played a lot of different songs between the two shows
He also did No One Need Know in one of the instagram livestreams last year (Sunrise show), you can find it on youtube a few videos of the 4PM show, thanks to the taper ticksspoon Stone https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVVtzvwxkXQ 100 Miles https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_NhY_qTDsM Astronaut https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIgli5SIoq0 |
yay at Stone being played again for the first time in 12 years :)
no change in the lyrics, not even a comma |

Thanks a lot for the Setlist ! I loved this "Insane" inside "I don't want to change you". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwSpjwYI_As Thanks to Niko. |
I loved No One Need Know! Really great song. Both shows were wonderful. So fortunate to have been there. Hope he comes back soon.
|
I really loved his NYC shows, but he was definitely lighter and happier in Boston (maybe bc of its new recreational supplies). It seemed like he did the questions begrudgingly and it was definitely weird.
The 4pm was also promoted as an opportunity to hear new songs, but there really weren’t any new ones for the “7” of us who have all his songs anyway. I think that’s why I’m excited about the rest of No Moon. |
