ONE favourite song

this thread will more than likely flop due to frustration from participants but if you had to have ONE favourite song and ONE ONLY, what would it be?

Vienna 06-07-2005 05:20 PM

i think Grace, i did proclaim it my favourite the other day after much deliberation but i generally do that once every now and again! i think maybe a better one would be favourite song of the month

(last month it was....The Mars Volta - Roulette Dares (the house of)...think i said all this is the what you listening to thread at some point!!!)

"Piazza, New York Catcher" by Belle & Sebastian.

Random, I know, but it's brilliant!!!

Imagine , the greatest song ever written. When I die, I just want the word Imagine on my tombstone, nothing else.

. . . I hope someday you will join us, and the world will live as one . . .

(Imagines the greatest song ever written...)

Conclusion: it really isn't 'Imagine'!! This song really bugs me - it's not so great!!

the song itself is perfect i feel, but i can't feel anything but contempt for the other instruments that john isn't playing... it would have been better if he was on his own, it would have given the song more space.

Louis Armstrong What A Wonderful World, i always love it.

I agree. I love that song!

Though if hard pressed, I could say with certainty that my favorite song would be by Simon and Garfunkel. Probably "America."

genzoman 06-09-2005 06:41 PM

bob dylan - boots of spanish leather. i dont know if its mine FAVORITE..but i think its the best written song.

marymac 06-14-2005 02:30 PM

Um...past while its been Ryan Adams 'I see Monsters'

Even though the first time I heard it I was on the verge of killing the man, it still took me to pieces.

liamd 06-14-2005 09:12 PM

mmm, probably New Slang(when you notice the stripes) by the Shins for everything it means and reminds me of. It's so hard to think of just one though!

shane_b 06-14-2005 09:19 PM

eva cassidy - over the rainbow, cos my gf sings it and i fall for it everytime, that warm butterfly feeling when i hear it to know i'm the luckiest guy in the world to be with her

Aw, that's so sweet!

lahdee 06-14-2005 10:09 PM

errr...just now....stone roses - I am the resurrection (listened to it about 5 minutes ago :D)
Although, I have a teenage fanclub track on right now that I cant remember the name of (first track of the album 'Thirteen') which takes me back to the days when I had hair!!!

Edit: 'Hang on' - thats the one!

eims 06-14-2005 10:16 PM

Halleluyah- Jeff Buckley... i love it so much -all the emotion in that one song- and all the different versions of it- i love k.d. lang's one. but recently it'd be more like 'The last Goodbye' by JB instead.. suits the situation better.

on second thoughts, i could never pick a favourite song- this is just a song that i could listen to anytime.. no matter what mood i'm in and it'll lift me up.
