9 Crimes is 1st single off 9
Zane Lowe apparently played it this evening on BBC Radio1 around 7.30pm, in his feature of Hottest Record In The World.....
..is this another Eskimo Friends web exclusive?! |
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/zanelowe/index.shtml
its heralded as "hottest record in the world" didnt know he was signed to atlantic |
Zane says: "It's an exclusive first play of one of the most talented singer-songwritters to come from the UK ever, period."
But eh... he's not from the UK!!! grr... He's IRISH Zane... good job apart from that though :) "This is a magnificent return for Damien Rice. This is '9 Crimes'. This is a hush record." << I wonder if Zane has heard that Bono quote :) |
it sounds realllllllllllllllllllllly good, very slow... love when lisa and damien are singing over each other...
|
bah.. they always rope the irish into the uk when it suits them :smiley4:
and i cant fast forward for some odd reason.. tho i dont mind listening to kasabian |
sounds really good. Very slow and tranquil
Lisa's voice sounds much better when she doesnt try too hard.. Sign of good things to come :smiley4: |
Lots of Lisa... :love7: always a good thing.
|
Wow!! I love the Zane show but I never expected him to be the first to play the new Damien Rice!!
The show is already available online, just follow the link that says Tuesday show... just starting playing it... cannot wait to hear how it sounds with Lisa!!! and to hear the CD quality song instead of the live version!! |
14mins 50sec in.
|
beautiful and sweet..:)
|
Just AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! Zane Low seemed to love it too!!! Weird he presented Damien as English!! Do your homework Zane!!;)
|
and it sounds faaaaaaaaaaaaaar better with Lisa!!!!
|
OMG!! i still have goose bumps and tears in my eyes *sighs* this album is gonna be perfect
|
Yay! I love it! Any way to record it from that stream? I want it on my iPod. If you figure out how to do it and want to give me an mp3, I will love you forever.
:smiley27: |
Simply beautiful, I Loved it. Gave me chills Thanks guys.
|
i'm on my fourth listen already.. god i'm entranced by this man's voice :)
lisa sounds beautiful too, but the interplay of their voices sounds awkward to me or something.. not seamless and natural like with volcano.. but still.. beautiful since the dj called it a "hush" record do you think he was referring to the whole album or just the single? and what did he mean damien spawned a movement, some of it good some of it bad but none of it his fault? did i miss something? |
It's lush and intimate. It's absolutely everything I knew it would be. I am thrilled about the new album.
|
Hey, does anyone know how to make MP3s out of radio shows?? We need this!!!
|
This is wonderful :) I can't wait for this album, I really can't. I love this song so much :)! After 5minutes deciphering BBC's awful HTML code here's a direct link to the show:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/shows...1/zane_tue.rpm Song starts around 13-14min in :) Easier to navigate to the start of it with this. |
sister m,
i think it's a clear stab at James Blunt. The movement Damien contributed starting is the singer-songwriter I'd say together with David Gray. This kind of music was always selling but just ok, but after Damien and David it became more popular and started selling buckets of CDs... Which is good because their music is amazing but it also brought less-talented singer-songwriters (cough*James Blunt*cough), who probably hadn;t had it as easy if people like Damien hadn't paved the road for them. |
I have it ripped to MP3. Is it really kosher to post it here? Honest.
|
I love this song!! I'm so glad it's the first single!!!

i'm so confused!?!?!? what are you guys loving that you are listening too!?!?!?!?!
ps. i don't think damien paved the way AT ALL. i'd def. say he is one of our modern day guys to help out with all the other not so talented people, but damein and david grey were NOT the ones who paved the way for others. i think people like james taylor, cat stevens, etc. were the ones who paved the way for people like damien and then people like damien just boosted it for this generation of singer/songwriters, but this is just my opinion. i just think that he wasn't the one to give all this credit to... don't get me wrong though.. damien is my favorite of all time and i got mad respect for him and helping open the doors, but damien isn't THAT popular. most people haven't really heard of him, but have heard of people like james taylor or cat stevens. |
carvin we're listening to the first radio play of Damien's new single on BBC Radio.
anyway, here's an old video performance of 'Nine Crimes' on KFOG http://24.104.40.88/kfog/ninecrimes.wmv |
