Nuannaarpoq (the inordinate pleasure of being alive)

i first heard of this inuit (eskimo) word a few days ago. it means "taking an inordinate pleasure in being alive" or "the extravagant pleasure of being alive". either way it's such a beatiful word in both its form and meaning. wonderful people those eskimos who can come up with such an extraordinary word

so why not having a thread with our favorite words, any language:

i'll start:

*papillon (french word for butterfly) i love how it sounds
*heliotropo. in spanish, heliotrope doesn't do it for me, dunno why
*jalalabad. afghan city. i remember thinking how beautiful the names of those cities were and the only reason they were on the news was because they were being bombed :(
*tajabone. another muslim word but this one is wolof (the language spoken in senegal) it's the name of a beatiful muslim tradition, or so i heard. anyway there's a song called tajabone also, so i guess that's why i like it so much

i found something on the internet

Quote:

The first syllable is sounded with two vowels: noo'en; the double "a" in the second syllable represents a long ah sound; the last syllable is pronounced like "pock", except with the "k" coming from 'way back on the soft palate - the phonetic term would an unvoiced uvular plosive, if that's any help. (Imagine a small tablet has stuck to the back of your soft palate in a public place. Now try to dislodge it discreetly; ie without sticking your fingers in your mouth or actively gagging. That's the sound you're after.)

So: noo'en-naahr-poK.
