Eskimo Concert/Live Stream Poll

This is to establish what the majority think best for the eskimo concert. Please only vote if you intend to take part :)

Constanze 06-05-2007 05:33 PM

excuse me .. what does "full blown concert" mean?

Rue Saint-Denis 06-05-2007 07:03 PM

Keep in mind: having both costs more.

A huge scal concert for absolutely anyone on this board - however many people want to come - and no live stream. It would mean we'd have to find a way of funding everyone's trip, and a way of getting round the carbon emissions issue.

Which is impossible.

Calum 06-05-2007 08:17 PM

People have been trying to solve that for decades - something's telling me a bunch of eskimos aren't going to have much luck either.

Yep.

Five Leaves Left 06-05-2007 08:19 PM

i think we should have a live stream from a concert of 100-200 people maximum in a city of damien's choice/convenience

That's the most sensible thing I've heard so far.

Emelie 06-05-2007 08:28 PM

And if we do the live stream + concert, maybe there could be some sort of interactive part at the end, so not only the people who could make it could ask questions, and talk to Mr. Damo...

Rue Saint-Denis 06-05-2007 08:29 PM

That sucks, that's like watching the four sessions. Great, beautiful show but I wasn't there!

Referring to the lucky 100-200 people thing.

I agree, but do you have a better, more plausible idea?
When I mentioned sense, though, I was reffering more to the location of Damien's choice.

Why oh why in a city? Didnt damien say that it was a breath of fresh air playing in somewhere down to earth like Dingle? do people assume it would be in a city?

sdevine 06-05-2007 10:49 PM

how about having it in a nice intimate venue in ireland its his home after all

Timeé 06-05-2007 10:58 PM

would 100-200 people pay the money, travel, make arrangements etc. ???

Yes, but it's not effective. We have more than 100-200 Eskimos, why should it only be them. Can we all just calm down a little bit until we hear what Damien thinks about this or until we call the tour manager?

I think city was just a figure of speech - I agree it absolutely doesn't need to be a city - but whereever it is, Damien should choose.

Anyways, I didn't intend for this thread to be another discussion about possibilities, it was simply to establish what type of show people would prefer, so maybe we should stick to the original topic for now :)

Are you going to pay for everyone on this board to go?

knives! 06-06-2007 08:06 PM

as awesome as this idea is, i think logistically and even almost politicaly implausible. how many eskimo's are there? who is to say who should and shouldn't go and based on what criteria? if anything i think we should ask damien.. somehow.

Knives, accorging to the Igloo Statistics (bottom of the main page) we are:

Members: 7,618!!!

But I guess it includes all people that signed up in the last 5 years, even if they haven't visited in the last couple of years. Sometimes I check which members are online, and many days we are 8-10 people at a time, sometimes even just 2-3 pple...

So not sure how many 'effective' members we are!!!!!

I don't think there'd be many more than 500-1000.

borneoman 06-06-2007 10:38 PM

Emmet we need an update!!!!! ;)
