Damien Rice DVD's

Hello all!

A massive hi ya from Liverpool! After catching Damien on channel 4 a few months back I scoured Winmx for his music and was blown away by his material. Ever since, I have searched high and low to find some of his shows on DVD. I managed to buy a DVD off Ebay featuring two shows, St Lukes and the Channel 4 session which I first discovered him on, but I would REALLY like to see some complete gigs - more intimate, and fan recorded type shows.

Does anyone know where I can purchase such material?

I was over the moon to purchase the first edition of O in material format with the catalogue number "drm002cd" on Ebay for four pound odd - I thought it would sell for endless, or maybe I bagged a bargain?

Any help in finding me some DR gigs would be more than appreciated.

Please don't buy anymore shows from ebay, you can get them all for free!

Have a look at http://www.damienricetrading.tk/

There's also a Damien TV Appearances DVD for download here:
http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=30325
(the one you bought on ebay is also available for download at that site)

If you don't have broadband I can copy some audio shows for you (as long as you don't mind waiting until late August). I have a list at http://db.etree.org/dana

Thanks for your reply Dana!

Thanks for your reply Dana!

I seriously need to do my homework about this torrent device - it seems I'm missing out on a load of material. I don't have broadband - can I still use this device?

It was REALLY kind of you to offer to record some audio shows for me. That would make my year - I will be in touch in late August - your a star... thanks!

Bit torrent is just another way to download stuff from the Internet. It's easy to use but without broadband it'd be painfullyslow, sorry.

Dana,

What would be the best way that I could get some/all of those shows from you whenever you can get to it later this month? I'm in the states and do have broadband...just curious and thanks for any direction or help you can give.

if you have broadband, you're practically set. if you can open an account at dimeadozen.com (they weren't allowing to open new accounts a few months ago) but you may check anyway. the entire shows are compressed in flac or shn, that way you can uncompress the files to and have the same quality as wav files and also burn the shows to cds.

i use bitcomet to download torrents, it's pretty neat. just click on the .torrent links you want, and it will create a folder and download the files. once you've download them all just run the .md5 file to verify the files aren't corrupted. (if the files are .shn you use have mkwACT)

there are many programs to decode the compressed files, i use mkwACT (http://home.att.net/~mkw/mkwact.html) for shn and flac frontend for flac files. although there may be better options for flac frontend, i'm beggining to hate it.

once you have the .wav files, you can burn a cd as audio, NOT AS DATA

dimeadozen is not the only option for torrents you can google some more. you can also use the ftp site (check cille's thread about links and briefcases). if you rather use the ftp, you should use an ftp client because it can be pretty slow.

good luck

I wish I had read this before, I too bought the St. Lukes show from ebay. You mentioned that the St. Lukes show is available at Dime a Dozen, however I registered and just found the one that is entitled "TV App Vol 2". I'd love to see the BBC sessions, is there any other place in which it can be found?

Thanks.

The TV Appearances Vol 1 DVD has the BBC 4 session on it but it only shows up if you search dead torrents too (because it's not being seeded). It's here anyway: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=26563

I'd add a comment asking if someone would be kind enough to reseed it - you might get lucky.

I can B&P/trade what's on my list (http://db.etree.org/dana), but not until the beginning of September sorry because of my exams. I also have limited access to a DVD writer (i.e. only when I'm home from uni) so it could take a while. As Cali said though, if you have broadband there are a few places you can download Damien's shows:

http://www.dimeadozen.org/
http://www.bootcity.org/
http://www.torrentspy.com/
http://www.damienricetrading.tk/ this site also has details of a server with loads of Damien stuff on it

And if you download DC++ you can use the damohub - info here: http://www.damohub.org/

theiny - I suffer with broadband too, but there are loads of factors that can affect the speed so you just have to be patient... You can tweak your system though to make it faster. There are loads of websites that can 'help' you with that if you do a search.

Thanks Dana! :) I've been to all those places now and found some great audio shows! I'll contact you by September for a possible B/P, thanks again!

DVD torrents

Hi

I am very new to this, so bear with me...:)
I have a VHS of the St Lukes gig and was keen on the digital version when I discovered this thread. I have downloaded the torrent from 3 of the sources now but they all have no sound:(
The main torrent (Vol 1) is the one I can't find anywhere.
Can someone move me on from here?
Cheers
