A Devonshire Eskimo? Or just travelling?

happy2bhere 04-19-2007 08:45 AM

A devonshire eskimo travelling from Wales! What a perfect time to visit! Have you seen anyone else at PP? From what i remember its quite a big venue.

Fool 04-20-2007 05:28 PM

I've not seen anyone else there, but a friend saw Bloc Party there the other night, and said it's 'quite big', but I imagine it to be smaller than any of the venues in October. Which I'm happy about! :)

happy2bhere 04-20-2007 06:45 PM

I've seen a few bands there many a year ago - i remember it being quite large. Like you say its smaller than some of the other venues! Somwthing to look forward to!

Ricicle 04-20-2007 08:06 PM

hi guys, we could make this a Devonshire thread........no only joking!!

I saw brian kennedy there in the 80's, before he was famousish..
pretty good venue, about the same size as IEC at Bournmouth..

Are either of you going to Bristol in July??

 :hello:  :hello:

happy2bhere 04-22-2007 07:00 PM

Not going to Bristol - no cash or childcare :crybaby2: Last time i was at PP was when i saw The Levellers there, in early 90's!!

Nine 04-22-2007 07:11 PM

Yay :D I just got back to Exeter today.

Went to Plymouth just the other week, and I'm seeing Derren Brown there in May - it's big, but tiny if you compare it to Wembley or any of the other arenas he's playing in October. The seating capacity is 2500.

Ricicle 04-23-2007 06:01 PM

yeh, my tickets arrived 2day aswell.
2A row G seats 27 - 30 ( no i'm not so fat I need 4 seats, taking some friends!!)

I had a quick look at the floor layout (http://www.plymouthpavilions.com/inc...format=concert)
and 2A looks to be quite close to the front and to the left...

happy2bhere 04-24-2007 10:30 AM

Got a horrible feeling that i'm on the end of the row, but guess that i'll still get a good view.

Ricicle - were you sitting or standing at Manchester?

Ricicle 04-24-2007 09:07 PM

standing. Dead centre, 5 rows back....why?

Not sure why i asked, having a random moment! Guess it was on my mind as to what it'll be like to see him at an all sitting gig. We were standing when we saw him at the Apollo and managed to get at the front - best place to be in my opinion! We saw Coldplay a while ago and could only sit, as i was pregnant at the time - just didn't feel as good as standing - just my personal opinion.

Ricicle 04-25-2007 05:13 PM

Totally agree with you, all seated gigs suck!
I saw Coldplay last year at Earls court, and didn't know if I should sit down, or stand up, and annoy the people sat behind me.
I know if I had paid good money to see a gig, and someone stood in front of me all night, i'd be mighty pissed off!

Saying that, will probably stand up all night at PP!

Will be nice to meet some fellow eskimos at last...

Ricicle 04-30-2007 08:03 PM

Funny how this thread seems to be a conversation between me and the only 2 other eskimo's that I really know. Be nice to meet you both soon.
