I was also at last night's show. Damien mentioned the Los Angeles show was the last leg of this tour, but made no mention of new dates.

It was a fun and very loose show with lots of jokes and banter. It started with comments about the crowd taking forever to find their seats and morphed into a night filled with jokes about LA people, how cold it was, and even having to restart "I remember" three times because he would break out into laughter. It was a nice set list with plenty of it coming from crowd suggestions. It was fun to see it mixed up without a lot of the previous gags (ie choir with "trusty," "cheers darling" wine drinking performance). It was a fun change up from the the last LA show at the Immanuel Church, so folks that got to see both got to see two very distinct shows.

Yes, quite a delightful evening. Even different from the Oakland concert, where he wasn't taking requests! But he was our bitch last night (his word). haha

Who was that guy on stage with him? Someone from the audience?

glo32 04-25-2015 09:30 PM

as someone wrote on instagram: "Let this man's story be a lesson to all. Sing along loud enough that freakin Damien Rice calls you up on stage to close out the show. So so good."

Thank you for posting that last video. It made me cry so damn hard. I was not expecting it to hit me like that but it was just gorgeous live. The show was fantastic. I agree with Fightthegdfight - two very distinct shows that were equally good. I brought a friend who had never seen him before and only knew a few of his hits, and she said it was one of the best shows she's ever seen. It's amazing how one man and a guitar can command the attention of 6,000 people for over two hours. We were eating it out of his hands. Couldn't have been happier with the show.

You're right, it was. :-) The audience member was really LOUD from his seat, the whole venue could hear him. haha Glad he had a good voice to back it up! The Oakland audience member was really good too. (She sang on "Cold Water.") California fans went 2 for 2!

I suppose people around him where a bit annoyed, but Damien handled the whole thing pretty well :D

In my section, we were amused and chuckling. The audience member's contribution capped off a fun night. :-)
