I got tix for The Box on Thu + Brooklyn, but failed to get tix for the Box on Sat

RenataAQP 09-19-2014 10:02 PM

Now 3 days in a row would have been pretty awesome!!!

signalfire 09-19-2014 11:02 PM

I'll be there Friday in Brooklyn and then Saturday in Manhattan!

mikerennie 09-20-2014 01:48 AM

I'm coming form Boston for Friday and Saturday shows as well :)

Circa1992 09-20-2014 03:11 AM

I HATE how stressful concert ticket buying can be sometimes! I'm reluctant to admit this given how many real fans missed out on tickets, but I am lucky enough to be going to all 3 NYC shows. My kids, also big fans (particularly my 22 year old daughter, the cutie in my avatar back when she was 13 who first introduced me to Damien's awesomeness years ago) were able to pull up tickets...I'll be their dates for the concerts! I'm a blessed mama, and so glad I raised 2 kids with fabulous taste in music. :)

borneoman 09-20-2014 07:25 AM

^ amazing

LilyT 09-20-2014 06:12 PM

Oops! I meant I'll be in Brooklyn on Friday. Was hoping for Saturday in Manhattan but Warsaw looks great too so I'm stoked!

Topspin047 09-20-2014 09:50 PM

Brooklyn on Friday! :)

DesoleInBoston 09-22-2014 01:07 AM

I'm coming from Boston for the Brooklyn and Manhattan show. I've had dreams about seeing Damien Rive play, I'm so thrilled to finally have the chance. I'm kind of glad the record won't be out yet, it's great falling in love with songs by hearing them live.

Agent99 09-22-2014 04:52 PM

:smiley4:

scomeaux 09-26-2014 11:32 AM

I'll be there!! This is my second time seeing Damien Rice, the first time was at the Radio City Music Hall show... Ugh... Breathtaking performance. By the by, my name is Sean and this is my first post! I've been a follower of this forum for about as long as I've been a Damien fan... So, '05 or '06. At the RCMH show there was a guy who recorded the entire show - including the show-stopping Cannonball unplugged encore which had me nearly I tears. Anyway, hi Eskimo Friends!

mikerennie 09-26-2014 12:19 PM

My Warsaw ticket came in the mail yesterday!!!

:hello2:

signalfire 09-27-2014 03:26 AM

Got mine too! After how stressful the sales were, it's nice to have one ticket in hand. I know my ticket for The Box will be valid and all, but I hate will call. At least with this I have physical confirmation I'm getting in.

seanbryantkbq 10-07-2014 04:46 AM

Anyone want to do a meetup for this and night two of The Box? Flying up from Atlanta to see both shows, and would love to be around some true fans.

DesoleInBoston 10-07-2014 01:23 PM

I'm still trying to figure out all of my travel details, but I googled Cadaques to learn more about the town where MFFF was filmed (and also where the recent footage of Damien giving a private performance was shot). I came across this restaurant called Cadaques by accident, it's quite near the Warsaw in Brooklyn. I might try to hit this before the show:

i had the "brilliant" idea of choosing Will Call for the Brooklyn show on Friday so i need to find out what time I'm able to get my ticket. :'( I will be up for meeting if i'm able to.

Just a heads up that it's about a 20 minute walk. If you eat early/aren't dying to be up front, it sounds like a fun experience. If you want to keep an eye on the queue/grab and go, there are some great restaurants on Manhattan Avenue super close to the venue.

I'll be at work until 6 myself, so I should get there around 6:30 and of course would be open to meeting up with people if I'm not too late!

seanbryantkbq 10-11-2014 06:15 AM

Should we all have shirts or something so we know who we all are?
Haha

signalfire 10-13-2014 12:06 AM

I'll just throw myself out there to kick things off. If anyone spots me at Warsaw or at The Box on Saturday and wants to say hi, feel free. I'll leave my photo as a link so you don't have to see me if you don't want to. Obviously I'm the girl. I am not a tall, skinny Irish musician. http://33.media.tumblr.com/3252b97d2...pcnpo1_500.jpg

I figure I'll be going straight for the queue at The Box, but of course feel free to PM for Saturday plans.

it says they open at 6pm so that's probably when we'll be able to get our tickets. i'll give them a call tomorrow just in case

ashleyz 10-14-2014 09:02 PM

So...how are we all feeling? No news is good news? Hoping a few days of rest and antibiotics gets him back to good health. If really hate to think he would try and push himself again.

Yeah I am guessing we are alright for the shows.... nervous until something official heard though

bonesmcgee 10-14-2014 09:37 PM

When is everyone planning on being in line on Friday? I have no idea what to expect

thewrightowns 10-15-2014 03:47 AM

I'll be there just before lunchtime. Feel free to say hi :D

https://pbs.twimg.com/profile_images...aa56bd691.jpeg

ashleyz 10-15-2014 03:54 AM

I was gonna head over to the venue around 2 or 3 and see what the line looks like then go do quick stuff in the area if no line was really started yet. Before lunchtime...are people really getting there that early? I might have to revise my plans!

mario_d 10-15-2014 04:55 AM

The doors open at 8pm for a 9pm show. It's a big square room for 800 people. The back of the room will be about 25 yards from the stage.

If you're at the venue before 8pm, you need to rethink some things.

Yeah we were thinking about doing the same.... plan is to get our rootless tree tattoos early in the day then head over to scope it out

You must not be short, I take it. I always try to arrive early because even in small rooms, if I'm more than a few rows back, chances are I won't be able to see a thing. Hearing the music live is great, but you miss out on a little something when you can't even glimpse the stage. I don't have to be front row, but not staring at someone's shoulder blades is generally more enjoyable for me.

Having said that, I have work Friday, so I won't get there until 6:30 and still may not get to see a damn thing...

RenataAQP 10-15-2014 12:36 PM

^ i have the same problem :( being 5 feet kind of stinks when it comes to standing-only concerts.
I have to get my ticket at Will Call, might head there around 5. You can message me once you get there and if i'm able to get a spot near the stage you can squeeze in there next to me

ashleyz 10-15-2014 12:37 PM

^ agreed! I can't see anything if I'm too far back. Although I looked up pictures of the place online and it looks like the stage is (hopefully) elevated enough that this won't be an issue.

mikerennie 10-15-2014 01:09 PM

I am getting nervous too, I have until 3PM today to cancel my hotel. Train tickets are non-refundable.... oh well.

Hopefully he cancelled Toronto because you're not supposed to fly with a major ear infection and he took a nice bus ride from Chicago to NYC with an IV and a double dose of cipro.

Circa1992 10-15-2014 02:39 PM

I'm not sure what time we'll head over to the venue yet, but my daughter and I are 5' also. I generally don't mind being short, but it DOES make things difficult when there's GA. If we hadn't lined up early for a U2 concert 9 years ago, she wouldn't have had the amazing experience that was captured in my avatar (Bono pulled her onstage at MSG and ended up giving her a piggy-back...best night EVER)!!! We were in the second row and there was a tall man (over 6') in front of us. He was so kind and offered to let us stand in front of him since he could easily see over our heads. He even took that fabulous picture to the left.
