TaraWatch campaigning to save the Hill of Tara landscape

RADIO TARA RADIO CITY DUBLIN

TaraWatch is the group campaigning to save the Hill of Tara landscape from the M3 motorway by, through legal means such as lobbying, litigation and education. Over the past three years, the campaign has received worldwide attention. Currently excavations are ongoing and a Supreme Court Appeal is pending.
Many Irish stars, who are opposed to the M3 route, have offered to play concerts and donate a song to an album and we are inviting them to play a series of gigs too at Dublin’s newest and hottest venue for live music.
TaraWatch recently held a very successful concert in Whelans, which featured, the debut of a single by Ronan O Snodaigh of Kila, members of Republic of Loose and The Immediate.

Musicians, writers and artists are working with TaraWatch to release an album this year, entitled ‘Tara of the Kings’. The title is taken from the poem by Irish poet Paul Muldoon, which appeared in The Irish Times on Saturday Sat Jun 24, 2006.

Artists include: Paddy Casey – Mundy - Waterboys - Kila - Camille O’Sullivan - Mic Christopher - Larry Beau - Sick and Indigent Song Club - Peatbog Faeries - Indian
A weekly music/variety show will be held at Radio City Dublin every Sunday between 8 and 11pm. All artists will donate their time and all profits will go to the TaraWatch campaign.

The show will be hosted, as it will be every Sunday, by Cora Venus Lunny.

The planned road actually runs further away from Tara than the existing road which begs the question why are people objecting at all
