new area

don't you think it would be a good idea to have a political area here at the igloo. there have been several political/religious threads lately and some people can get very passionate about that. i thought an area of the igloo with very well defined guidelines-- like no personal insults, etc-- would be great. and some of us could talk not only about politics but also about religion, philosophy, news, etc.

what d'ya think?

Ok - ill make the first statement! and its just my personal opinion, so i apologise if it insults anyone.

'Religion is merely a controller of the masses, a tool used by the powerful to manipulate society.'

maybe it'd get too heated? i mean, there have been... incidents following some of our political/religion discussions, maybe having a whole forum for that would be too straining on the atmosphere around here?

Maybe there's a political message board already in place that people could go to?

A lot of well established music boards have political/news forums. People might want to talk about a variety of subjects with people they already know, not run off to some unknown political board (which is bound to serve quite a different purpose).

i meant for emmett to open a new area here at the igloo, 'coz we've been having those threads anyways

SisterMidnight 04-26-2005 01:43 AM

thats a good idea! everything else is kind of split up that way anyway... we could have a warm fuzzy/random everything else section and a heavy, deep philosphical/political debate section :smiley23:

with appropriate guidelines put it in place of course...

Hopefully it does not get ugly if one is made!
