My new theory on "Sleep, Don't Weep"
It's not a rip-off of "Cold Water". It's the sequel. Just like "Elephant" it uses essentially the same music but lyrically tells the aftermath of he first story.
Think about it. In "CW" the character feels completely lost, is overwhelmed, crying out for a savior. In "SDW" he returns the favor of comforting the one who rescued him. The song is made all the more poignant by the fact that this time it isn't one of those overwhelming tragedies you fear you'll never recover from or be able to endure, but rather the other end of the scale: a stressful day when you just want to be held. |
I absolutely adore this song Spamlet.. Its just sweet and comforting and lovely.
I agree with your new Theory. ! |
Yep, I kinda thought the similarities were done on purpose!!
