Cork - July 13, 2015
Don't think we had a thread already.
Just wanted to wish everyone a great gig!! A lot of my favourite people here will be there. Enjoy and report! Wish I was there too! :icon_kidr |
Thanks. Am looking forward to seeing him in Cork again :)
|
We are on our way! Glo, we miss you here!
Maybe see you there Wheels :) |
Thanks Glo!
(Would have been great if you were here as well :) ) |
Any reviews frm Cork?? Was it as good as Dublin??
|
Let's see if i remember the setlist.
I think this is it The professor Elephant I don't want to change you 9 crimes Trusty and true Delicate I remember Woman like a man Older chests Volcano It takes a lot ... -- (encore: standing on a chair) Cannonball The greatest bastard The blower's daughter (unamplified) Genuinely beautiful show, but to me not as magical as the Iveagh Gardens. |
Amazing gig!! Will write more later, but my vids (not many, as battery died), are uploading now. Woman Like A Man was the highlight for me in this gig!!
Raaaah!! :hello2::icon_kidr:hello2: https://youtu.be/V985CMhQYqA |
Good show he was so energetic
But setlist not as good as Dublin Bastard was the highlight |
La Fille Danse at the start too.
I loved the show. He was in great form. My highlight was the end to the main show with all the layering, building up to such an intense loud ending. Fantastic. It was great to meet a few more Eskimos too. It seems there were more there than I got to meet too... sorry to have missed you guys. |
Wow, your view was perfect! I had a lot of heads to see through :)

It was honestly the most incredible experience of my life. I'd waited 8 years to see him and he was everything that I could have hoped for and more! I'm sure everyone could have listened to him for hours and days. Wasn't a massive fan of Trusty and True though, thought he could have cut it shorter and just given a snippet of it!

Some pics...although I was adamant not to stand in a place where his face would be covered by the 2 mics again as in Dublin, AND I was the second person to arrive at the venue, I ended up in the same position as in Dublin!!:smiley6: Dumb!! Oh well.

I liked the show, but not as much as the other ones I went to...
I was really emotional during Elephant for some reason, but Trusty and True didn't do it for me and afterwards I was not as into it as in the beginning... :/ But it was wonderful to see him live in Ireland with everybody singing along to the old songs... not something that happens much in France :) |

C'est dommage indeed BUT I managed to get a ticket for Monday! YAY!!! I don't understand what happened, I looked regularly on the Grand Rex site and today places were available again... But I got only one, I feel like it was the very last! I have a balcony place, though... Can't wait !!! And maybe I'll finally be able to meet some eskimos :) |

Hello everyone,
These are some pictures I took in Cork on Monday. It was really awesome! In my list only second to a Leonard Cohen concert a few years ago. https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wV3ZN6u9z...595%2BCork.JPG https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6dWxq_v7f...591%2Bcork.JPG https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-00aZV9DOn...565%2BCork.JPG https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fa54YXUPL...608%2BCork.JPG |

i was lucky enough to go to the gigs in dublin, cork and galway and i have to say that the concert in cork is on top! i agree with the fact that he played a better set list in dublin but i felt the songs he played in both places (like i remember, woman like a man, 9 crimes, italtkam, for example) were much more intense and full of energy in cork than in dublin... maybe it was only me :p
i loved trusty and true and it really hit me... i started crying like a baby, lol (the song has been particularly significant for me lately) and i found it extremely powerful... as it was italtkam... that was mind explotion. how deep he was into it... his body language, so so intense. it really transported me. it was a perfect ending before a perfect encore... standing on a chair, with the cuttest excuse "i´m not extraordinay tall", lol :smiley36: it seemed that he never wanted to leave. he looked so happily overwhelmed (like the photo from carole proofs it -thanks claude for posting :)) that he even threw a kiss to the audience. i don´t think he´d even done that before, although i could be wrong. a few minutes before the concert started, i was thinking to myself a bit concern: what if get use to his gigs or to his performances?". i´ve only seen him live a couple of times before but with the space of years, so i got worried... but from the moment he started playing i knew it would be impossible to get use to (fortunately!)... the energy, the intensity and the magic is all new in every gig (and i´m saying that after being at the concert in galway)... and i was mesmerized all over again :) having seen emmett and wheels at the end was a real treat too! also, having sharing the experience with such lovely eskimo friends! thank you for staying with me while i had to kill some time despite you all were worn out :smiley31: :smiley31: :smiley31: thanks for all the vids, marti. i will re-live the moment endlessly now :D |
Thanks to you Vere and to all the Eskimo friends for your kindness !
