The 2007 What Made You Smile Thread

What made you smile today?

This: http://www.blueman.com made me smile, giggle even. I didn't know that the Blue Man Group actually existed!!!! :D The whole concept seems so absurd I thought it had to be a creature of the Arrested Development Writers' imagination.. :icon_pray

What made me happy (it was yesterday actually but I'm still happy today) is that I got playoff tickets for my very favorite team/sport in the whole world. Now they just have to win!!

Recovering from a lung effect causing heavy fever and Schüttelfrost (ague?) within only 3-4 days. So I feel way better than on Sunday/Monday. Thank god to litres and cans of green tea and that I didn't need antibiotics. :hello2:

Fool 01-10-2007 08:02 PM

I'd just like to know one thing: If you hug a blue man, will you turn blue yourself?

hugging is fine, the blue contamination will only take place after kissing a blue man

cille 01-11-2007 12:05 PM

French Kiss or Auntie-peck?

BTW, do you know this from experience, Marc..? ;)

soda 01-11-2007 03:22 PM

all kiss variations included.

observation, dear, observation. I stay away from blue men. ......

Sure is. They are my favorite - I look forward to football season all year! My husband and I paid an obnoxious amount of money to go to the playoffs last year and they ended up losing (still a fun time though.) I hope they win and possibly give me a superbowl for my b-day. After going to so many games and watching every one on tv throughout some terrible years it gets me very excited when they do well.

Ships_Were_Sailin 01-11-2007 05:19 PM

finally finishing our new song, we are instrumental and we went strictly Guitar bass and drums with this song, leaving our usual orchestral style to the side for a bit :P

tis on my myspace for anyone who cares (tis the top one, between the light)

Cool I have to say I never got into football over there until I was actually in amongst it and went to my first Tail gate party, such a cool day out.

I hope they go well this year for you, I've always wanted to go to chicago would love to get into the advertising there!

buddy 01-11-2007 11:12 PM

i just made a nice, big, warm bowl of soup. not much, but hey, sometimes it doesn't take much.

It's a great city - so much fun and different than any other big city I've been to (although winter's can be brutal). You should definatly visit if you ever get the chance - you're sure to have a great time (now I sound like the one advertising!)
Oh, and I have always enjoyed the game but there's nothing like actually being there (and the tailgate parties are awesome!!)

BIG TIM 01-11-2007 11:40 PM

But Chicago isnt called "windy city" because of the wind. :smiley17: That has something to do with a world exposition in Chicago because they made so much "wind"/ furore about it. (hui i even remember something of the several guided tours in Chicago) :smiley23:

Smile

My cat made me smile today. He always meets me at the door when I come home from school. I like to do the Ace Ventura thing, where I jiggle the keys in the door. So by the time I open the door he's sitting there on the stairs purring like he swallowed an alarm clock.

Then he completely shuns me after I feed him. Go figure.

i got an email from my cosin in sweden tonight. i jst saw her once in my life and that's abot three years back or so. i'm really excited abot that! we didn't really stay in contact or anything becase she's mch yonger than me bt that's great that she wrote me today and send a pic with that. she's the image of her father/my mother/my grandfather...exactly the same eyes... genetics can be sooooooooo amazing...

samuelle 01-13-2007 02:53 AM

a few of my students told me i was an "awesome" instructor on their way out of class today. and that was AFTER i had them respond in writing to an article for 30 minutes.

sometimes it pays to have comparatively small class sizes at a large university...

carvinC980t_kid 01-13-2007 05:53 AM

i'm very ****ed up. i'm going to bed now, smiling!

Really, I did not know that, thank you for that, you've probably saved me a lot of embarrassment. :smiley17:

katiejoey 01-13-2007 07:12 PM

It's true that that's how the name started - I guess people felt that Chicago politicians were bullsh**ters. But it is pretty darn windy at times. One time the umbrella flew off my picnic table and landed in the middle of the street.
Anyways, today my daughter made me smile (as she does everyday!!)

Ships_Were_Sailin 01-14-2007 02:05 PM

wooo! just got tickets to go see explosions in the sky in manchester academy!!

thats gonna be one of the most amazing gigs of my life, i know it

silhouette 01-14-2007 03:45 PM

Congratulations on the tickets, man.

This morning! I woke up and the sun was shining and the weather is perfect (even though it is hardly January weather) and the birds were chirping.

I used to hate days like this but now I cannot get enough of them.
