What instruments do you own? (and what do you plan on getting next?)

I'm new here, so I thought I'd break the ice in the musician's forum... what instruments do you currently own? I've been playing guitar since about 2000 and I own:

2001 Taylor 414CE
2001 Martin D35
???? Dean 12 string (performer SE12 I think, it was used)

Hello :)

I've got:

Takamine AN15, which I got cheap 'cos it has a tiny little laquer crack from when the pickup was fitted. That's one of those Takamine pickups, pretty much identical to the fishman.

Ibanez S470, quite an old version of that model, plays nicely though.

A cheap Freshman electro/acoustic which sounds lovely unplugged.

Three random classicals, one of them's quite nice but very old and in need of some tlc. One of them is a tiny one from when I was 8 and refused to learn guitar.

An encore strat replica (handed down from my big brother! hehe)

Another encore guitar, like, even worse than the strat, which only has one humbucker pickup and sounds like crap.

A hohner (think that's it) electric that's in pieces and no good for anything at the moment.

A Casio digital piano.

A harmonica.

And my only amp is a Roland Cube30.

Wow, I didn't realise I had so much stuff.

If anybody's interested in buying any of this, other than the Takamine, do let me know!

bottlebohemia 05-28-2007 12:40 PM

Fool, that's a lot of instruments!

I only have 1- an acoustic guitar (just a beginners). I've been playing since last December.

PenguinBoy 05-28-2007 01:36 PM

recorder, saxaphone, 2 harmonicas, 1 guitar.

and i'm planning on getting an acoustic di box...

http://www.andysmusiconline.com/blog...RD_700SX-2.jpg

+ my voice + http://www.musicinstruments.it/micro...a%2058_jpg.jpg + studio mic

+ A couple of guitars - a nylon string given to me and an electric that I found, but I can't really play them

+ our household also recently bought one of Paz Lenchantin's bass guitars at an online auction

edit: Wait a minute, how could I forget my first love:
http://homepage.mac.com/synth_seal/images/pss450.jpg
^taught me how to play and compose - I don't play him anymore but i still technically own him...

2nd edit:

eamo_rice 05-28-2007 02:28 PM

A Silver-headed Yamaha flute

an old restored fiddle

a Casio Keyboard (was for a-level composition so not really used much now)

a cheap crappy acoustic guitar i bought to teach myself on and gave up after a couple weeks

several tin whistles in various keys and tunings - I've got 3 'D' whistles which each have a different tuning!

next buy: a wooden flute i think, wanted one for yonks but never been able to afford it.

-a Cremona acoustic guitar
-a Hora Portuguese-style manolin
-a Clarke D tinwhistle
-some more tinwhistles, some of them broken in two :)
-an irish rosewood D flute
-a chinese bamboo flute (dizi)
-a wooden G flute from Serbia
-a uselessly bad Easter European wooden flute
-a fippled folk flute which is so out of tune that it sounds really oriental :)
-a pair of castanets
-some ocarinas
-a small African harp-lute
-an upright piano
-a couple of recorders, mostly soprano and alto ones
-a small goblet-shaped drum
- a zither
-a Sony toy synth

That's all, I think :)

I have no detailed plans for the future. I'd love to learn to play the uileann pipes, or the viola da gamba, or just the darbuka. Probably the latter one will happen.

Ligi 05-28-2007 08:39 PM

A kazoo. I lie, I dont really have a kazoo. But I do have:

Pots and pans.

Kitchen Ladles (for banging on aforementioned pots and pans)

And a noisy dishwasher that whistles (I really oughtta get that fixed.)

Samart 05-28-2007 10:00 PM

My instruments :

- one acoustic guitar : a Washburn. Plan to get the Takamine EF508C or EG523SC. WHat do you think is best out of this two ?

- Harmonicas (Honer and Suzuki) : F, G, C, A, Bm and D.

- my mouth (does it count ?)

happy2bhere 05-29-2007 10:03 AM

2 djembe's
1 keyboard
1 Didjeridoo (can't play it - have you tried circular breathing...?!!)
Impressive collection of plastic instruments that belong to my 5 & 1 year old!

Other half did have a full drum kit, but recently gave it to charity - small house, loud noise, angry neighbours - not a good combination

Daughter number 2 got her fisrt drum for her 1st birthday on Saturday - twas a proud moment!

carvinC980t_kid 05-31-2007 09:10 PM

ibanez rg520qs, ibanez artcore aft75, ibanez something bass, just sold my ibanez UV777bk (steve vai signature guitar), ibanez something acousitc, carvin c980t, cheap ass carlo robelli fretless bass, then i have no idea what the brands are and i'm too tired to go look, but i own a really nice violin, an ok cello, and a nice stand up bass. i also got a super supre nice pearl export select special edition drumset with a dope cymbol set up. oh, some cheap lap steal that is badass. i own a flute, but i can't play it anymore. i sold my piano.

i think that is it. i'm not sure.

i don't plan on anything next. i basically quit playing guitar this year after playing since 3rd or 4th grade. i use to teach guitar lessons and play in lots of bands but highschool competiviness ruined music for me cause people make it not fun when they talk sh*t about other people cause they are insecure of their playing. i lost most my passion when i thought a kid the song Night on Bald Moutian and thought him the 1st violin part, which is spent a month perfectly transcribbing it to electric guitar and then he took it and told everyone he figured it out when he can't hardly play the damn thing. just stupid little things like that made it not fun. i just love listening now!!!!

Timeé 05-31-2007 09:17 PM

You know how you quit playin music? Fed Ex all your instruments to me.

Bumpman 06-01-2007 03:17 AM

I play the spoons, and I actually have proper playing spoons. They're so much fun. I have two Lamellaphone's. A full sized Djembe, which I think came from somewhere in Africa. Bongo's too. I have a 120w Vox Amp, I'm pretty sure it's roughly the same model as Dave Geraghty's one, I know because I helped him lift his Vox once. I have a wine coloured Maverick electric, it sounds pretty rough. Which I like. I also have my own 600w PA, useful for practicing and whatnot, plus a digital 8-track. I have a few harmonica's and a clarinet. I have a Simon & Patrick twelve-string acoustic, an Art & Lutherie six string acoustic. I have a cello. There's also a couple of upright pianos, one sounds a bit like a Fender Rhodes, the other one sounds really battered and beaten down. I also have a Gibson, it's an LG-0 model acoustic; made in America in '67. They even gave me the original case with it.
