I think he was explaining it as part of the backstory to the professor and how he was a "scientist" as a young man. If him or his buddies saw a girl they fancied they would go to the bathroom, wank off and come out to see if the girl still did anything for them.
I believe that was how he explained it but the crowd was making a lot of noise so I don't wanna say I'm totally right.
