I don't know anything about that place. You'll likely be fine but I rather spend a little more and get a real hotel. Personal preference.

Make sure you catch the Blackhawks Sabres home opener while you're in town Saturday. The West End is a great hockey bar near that hostel. As is the United Center if you want to go to the game. You can usually scalp standing room ticks out front for relatively cheap. The Bedford is a chic club across the street too. Evil Olive just east of there is a pretty popular dance club. Fatpour is a decent beer bar.
