i have seen both live and would go for damien any day - maybe i was just unlucky with the night i saw devendra, but there was just something pretentious about his act - PLUS he and the band were so drunk already when they started playing, and it just got worse from then on - i left the gig, cause towards the end it sounded so horrible i couldn't stand it.
i also saw devendra at roskilde last year, and it wasn't all that. i dunno, i just feel there's something false about him; maybe i'm wrong.
damien, on the other hand, gave me the greatest musical experience of my life.
