Ok, well according to Glen in the interview, the movie "Once" was actually supposed to have Cillian Murphy as the main star, so it would have been Cillian and Marketa, with Glen writing the songs. But then Cillian pulled out for some reason. So Glen said he recommended Damien to star since, according to Glen, "Damien was slightly younger than I am, n the character was meant for someone who was 21".
So John Carney(the director) apparently talked to Damien, but came back to Glen, n told Glen that since he wrote the songs, it would make more sense if he played the part. Well, we all know how it ended. BUT, just imagine, if Damien had starred in it....
I'm sure Damien would have made a fine actor
Oh, and it's not the same performance as the one on KCRW in July. But, here's the link for that performance, it's pretty darn good too.
